"I SMESH ERRYONE!! I KILL ERRYONE!!!"

proceeds to a boring arse 5 round wrestlefuck decision. the energy in the pub at the end was dead. the crowd in the arena sounded pretty dead. the twitter cope was already on screen before the end of khamzats speech "you may not like it but this is what dominance looks like" etc. etc.

no, i am not entertained. reckon khamzat lost a lot of fan support today.

it would be different if kamzat didn't throw pitterpatter bullshit, like 200 unanswered shots to ddp's head and he's still fine

but ddp was pretty pathetic, 529 to 45 strikes and comeplete shutout 50-44

But wait there's more... Poatan vs Ankalaev is booked UFC 320 instead of pushing Poatan to Heavyweight.

Burning up exciting fighters left and right with poor matchmaking. Nobody asked for the rematch. I get DDP needing to fight top contenders.

But when it comes to forced fights against Russian wrestlers, give the fans a break. Why the fuck isn't Pereira at HW already?? Why do we need another headliner of an exciting champ/former champ being pressed against the cage. The Paramount deal sucks because UFC has no incentive now, whereas the ESPN deal had PPV incentive at least to sell fights. You can't tell me Poatan doesn't sell more at HW than a rematch against Ankalaev.

The Era of GSP is back

GSP stood and beat Hendricks on the feet for 5 rounds. He technically lost, but he stood and banged.

You can't really compare that to the current crop of bearfuckers.

GSP would have outjabbed a farmer-style brawler like DDP.

He doesn't necessarily need to take DDP down to win. He knew how to score points on the feet if he needed to outpoint someone standing. GSP's jab game was world class.

I always felt like if you don't want a guy to teabag you for 25 minutes, maybe you should get good enough to do something about it.

That was hard to fucking watch I'll tell ya. DDP is just fight stupid -- guy got taken down repeatedly and at no point decides to risk it all and put his best knee forward, nope never does this. Just sprawl defense and hopes to get back up...

I still like Poatan at 205. I think that is the right weight for him to be at. Plenty of competition in the division. Folks will watch him at whatever weight and I'd be just fine with him getting a HW title shot or fighting one of the top guys there. I'd also love to see him fight Khamzat. He is 38 so I think whatever he does next against Ankalaev requires a win in order to slide to one of the other divisions, but I think it just might trap him at 205.

Also, about 3 weeks away from Gable Steveson's debut: Gable Steveson to make MMA debut at LFA 217
