I was at Dave & Busters tonight with a bunch of my co-workers watching the fights. Great time. It became kind of a "going away party" for me, prior to moving to Texas on Friday.
The card delivered on every level. What a spectacle, and they did America proud.
Live band was incredible, all 7 fights were exciting and ended by KO/TKO, the venue was incredible, and the honoring of the service members was incredible. Just pulling this event off was a minor miracle and the fighters all came to die on their shield. Hats off to everyone involved.
I guess we're just ignoring when Alex did the same to Jiri?
It happens all the fucking time and Herb is one of the worst referees in the UFC. A number of the shots were to the high side of the head, not the back.
If Gane doesn't want to be hit, then you aren't going to hit him. Easiest pick ever.
It shouldn't surprise anyone-- yet you can see the surprise in this thread over Pereira's loss. Some of us might be getting too old to pay attention and have become filthy casuals.
Alex needs a lot more time to adjust to HW sizing. Im the biggest Alex fan there is but its clear as day he was out matched in carrying weight. I think Alex needs more time to release some of that weight, and rebuild it as muscle; going up in weight didn't produce the power shift he needed to over come natural heavy weights. Also, this doesn't stop Alex from being a 3 weight champ, he could still obtain it. I think he could beat Gane in a rematch but it'll go to a decision..
