NO! They are an endangered species and thus, you guys broke the law, even if it was accidently killed.

I was in Florida over Christmas and went snorkeling with manatees. They are sweet, gentle creatures who swim right up to people and want to be petted, like a big puppy. I'am saddened to hear of what you did.
