Looks like I have both the zones I need for health augment at level 7. Just have to get a tempered Namielle to pop
Any Namielle will be tempered so you can lure one if you have a lure, or just wait it's not really that rare.

And yeah the other mats are either gathering stuff if you haven't done this(gather enough to fill the red bar and spawn the big clusters of bone+ore in each area and you'll have every materials at least once) or just monsters you haven't killed in the regions you haven't leveled, a lot of them are region specific obviously. That's why I'm just delvling and relvling stuff so I have everything. Atm I'm only missing Tempered Brute Tigrex and Tempered Vaal Hazak(basically lvl 7 Rotted, I had 6 before I unlocked 7 but dropped it to farm actually useful stuff at 7). You can hop in someone's else game as long as you lock your shit and get stuff there. You can also convert materials from one region to the other, although you can't do that for the highest tier(tempered elders).

The "main" augment you want is health on R12, and that's temp namielle+temp zinogre with coral guiding bone and some random filler crap.

Dunno if Blast is the most optimal or anything but Blast and Poison are quite strong for Longsword.

Only 8? Do you not run Geology? If you have Geology 1 slotted in(make a separate GL set where you just copy your normal set and replace a healthboost or attack or whatever with one), you can loot each shiny twice. Also break parts for more shinies, and do flinch shots into walls everytime the monster isn't enraged for more shinies. I generally average 25-30 drops per kills, unless it's a monster with few breaks where it'll be like 15-20 instead. Shit like Radobaan is like 50 drops per kill, too bad it's low tier so you can't use the drops to trade in for much else.

Seems a bit weird to run divine blessing on lance but if you do wouldn't it be better to go golden rathian chest too and get 5 divine blessing instead? You lose some attack but shouldn't affect much since you're not running master's touch or crit boost so full affinity isn't like vital and should add a fair bit of tankiness, not sure how the decos fit though.

Have you used the build btw? Lance eats through sharpness like a fat kid in a candy shop so even with Sharp VI Sharp V I'm not sure how good it is, or do you have like only sharpness mods on your Safi lance? Like even the 120 white nergi if I drop master's touch will drop to blue surprisingly fast.

Also story time, finished gathering the various mats for my SnS build, shit's pretty fun to play. The weapon takes a bit getting used to, the inputs are way more complex than it looks like and you get stupid shit out too often imo(fucking guard slash which is it even a thing) but it surprisingly does good damage even when I'm not getting shit out perfectly or failling timing inputs on perfect rush.

And armor wise I went for a very different setup than usual, 3 pc brute tigrex(Free Meal secret) and speed eating maxed, so I basically drink full potions near instantly and they don't get used 3/4 of the time. Did some GL grinding and 3monsters spawned in a row in Rotted vale that I wanted(odo, radobaan then great giros, all exclusive to vale so good progress) and killed all 3 without having to go back to get materials or craft or anything, literally still had 7potions left even though I drank a bunch. Really cool build and it can be modified for mutiplayer with wide range for supporting.

Only thing missing is the Safi patch change to make SnS tenderize on first hit if you use the claw uppercut and and that'd be perfect.

I guess you drop in white before the monster changes areas but that seems like a lot of purple then a lot of white so probably not a big deal. Isn't that way too much affinity though? You have wex3 and crit eye 7 so that's already 90%, attack IV is another 5% and then you add 25% on the weapon? That's without augments too. Seems like it'd be better to just run attack on it instead? I guess it gives you 100% without using the claw but I find using the claw pretty easy on lance. At the very least you could put an affinity augment and use Attack VI Affinity V instead for the same 25% but also a bunch of attack.

Safi weapons are super broken though not sure why they thought it'd be a good idea to give a ton of additional customization on weapons that are already good without anything on them.

I can certainly fine tune it next time I decide to do a ton of Safi'Jiva. But I am real tired of that fight. For whatever reason I found Kulve Taroth way more fun. I'll drop some Critical Eye for Attack I think to keep the Affinity down.

Most of the time I just run Loyal Thunder build because it is so nice to just put out crazy numbers with it.

Safi Weapons are just SO UGLY I HATE USING THEM.

I thought some of them looked nice but yeah I get it running the same fight over and over is boring, sucks every best weapon is basically Safi so you have to run it a billion times.

Anyone know the maths on Insect Glaive and elemental effects? Last time safi was around I wanted to make an elemental glaive with all element up awakens and one Velkana Divinity or Silver Rath bonus, then get the 4 pc silver and 2 pc velkana bonuses. Wasn’t able to get the set bonus awakened on my weapon, but will be going for that over the next day or two.

My goals for safi this time are: finish my experimental elemental IG, make a hunting horn with Sonic Waves in the song list, and maybe get another horn with a more non-traditional song list. Right now I just use a Bindhorn with Velkana song list, poison or blast IG, or a blast lance. I did also make aqua shot and glutton 3.0 last time around, but I don’t use them.

it does suck looking at Safi weapons all the time, they’re not very aesthetically pleasing. they’re so strong though.

The meta reddit thread seems to say IG is better with high raw+some ele rather than full ele, so it seems better to stack attack(or some sharpness) rather than try to scale the element. That said as usual you can do whatever especially if you already have the right set bonuses.

On the HH why do you want Sonic Waves, that's like both super situational and still kinda bad in the right situation? I mean I guess it's something to add to the collection but don't see myself ever using sonic waves when you can just fire a screamer pod without sheathing now, while in MR the dig speed and travel speed of Diablos and especially Black Diablos are much faster when they're enraged(which is all the time due to flinch shot) so I'm not even sure you can get it off in time without casting it randomly and hoping they dig.
