New docuseries from the guy that did Tiger King. First episode was great if you've ever had interest in reptiles. The insanity should ramp up significantly when it gets to Mario Tabraue, the cartels, and the rise of venomous keepers.

Second episode was better. They're getting into more of the names that are still relevant.

Third episode is probably terrible if you've never been interested in reptiles.

It's kinda funny that most of the "bad guys" are still in business, and still well respected. Except Frank Molt, because fuck that guy.

I mean, I don't hate lizards and stuff but I can't bring myself to care about the death of a bunch of snakes and shit.

Yeah this show is definitely interesting but you cannot really make smuggling reptiles into some sinister crime syndicate thing.

They smuggled radiated turtles, iguanas, and whatever. The dastardly and vicious wildlife protection service busted them and they spent a a year or two in prison. Wild!

How the industry functions is cool to learn about. Weirdos who smuggle lizards and skirt around the drug trafficker circles being pieces of shit in general is just not that compelling. These dudes didn't kill people, they didn't sell drugs, they just smuggled disgusting lizards to sell to other weirdos.

This episode was pretty weak. It's a good thing this was a pure passion project, because it appeals to basically no one that didn't already know the broad strokes of it all.

This could have been a series of YouTube videos, honestly.

I really really really got a kick (not really) out of the wildlife undercover guy comparing the lizard& turtle smugglers to the drug cartels. I could not help but wonder what the USA wasted getting that old fat guy out of Belize jail so they could charge the taxpayers to put him in an American jail. I also cannot tell if this is the last one or not.

There's one more, and it'll be about Anson Wong. He's at the top of it all, and getting that interview was the linchpin to this whole documentary. I think Eric Goode said it took the better part of two decades to finally get him to agree to it.

Last episode was good. That retired wildlife officer keeping a ploughshare tortoise in a glass aquarium is so fucked up. It's a neat coincidence that Eric Goode finally managed to breed them here in America just before the series premiered.

So the 'Pablo Escobar' of the reptile world gives an interview in yellow crocs sitting in a plastic lawn chair. Lol.

Oh now I see what you mean about the turtle, so this is like the DEA guy is a coke head. Weird series.
