First one was pretty solid. It had some dumb shit and Kano mostly carried it, but it's no worse than any of the originals and despite those also being shitty, they were fun movies.

Cole is not fun or interesting.

This movie will benefit from limiting his screen time.

The opening setup was nice but then it jumped to a new guy whose power was literal plot armor. Best part was kano being an asshole.

Only things you probably need to know from the first 1

1) Cole is descended from Scorpion (although this didn’t really go anywhere). Pretty sure Cole will get killed in the first 5 minutes of this new movie, so only adding this since it may help explain Scorpion motivation in this one

2) Like the later games, Scorpion’s clan is killed by Bi-Han (later going as Subzero and after that, Noob Saibot in the games)

3) Some characters died in the 1st film but they seem to be alive again in this one, so I suspect they’ll quickly address why that is
