Kratos is actually the most fully realized form of masculinity in a video game.

From being nothing but a ball of rage and horniness in the early PS2 games, to being a full grown man/father in 4 and having to actually struggle to do something right for his son while dealing with the death of Faye.

Full disclosure: I haven't played Ragnarok, so maybe they turned him in to a huge fag in that or something.

As far as things you witness/playable this is the answer. Kratos is the only choice.
