No, wordpress is free (Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS - WordPress.org). On the .com they're just upselling you on hosting. Get hosting somewhere and they'll probably have a wordpress one-click install, and they probably auto-update for you too.So, should I just go to Wordpress.com and get the Personal or Premium plans and just go with that? Is that just the easy way and say fuck it?

Windows defender is fine for most small business applications. It really depends on your IT footprint and exposure. Especially if you're not letting people browse the web or install their own applications.I have some work computers that I need to have some level of Virus Protection on. Every piece of anti-virus software (Mcaffee, Kapersky) has turned into a virus themselves and ruined my machines that were running it.
Does a free, unobtrusive solution exist? Should I just use Windows Security?
Honestly your best solution is going to be a good all in one firewall/content filtering solution, and load chrome or brave with script blocking and all that. If you have business fiber or cable, some ISPs include pretty decent out of the box security stuff.Thanks. This is very small business, but the employees will definitely "browse the web" when the boss isn't looking. I will probably just ratchet the restrictive settings up to max and put parental controls on it as well.
This is what I put on every machine I build. Free and legal. It's like OLD office, not the new gay and fake office. Maybe you can make it look fake and gay, dunno cuz I don't care.I hate that microsoft word and associated programs require a subscription. Id buy it if you could still do that.
Is there any alternatives? Everything I've tried just doesn't cut it. Headers on documents get all messed up (the image and wording gets moved around)
This is for a work computer so something legit would be nice.
Might sound silly, but I'm still using MS Office 2007.I hate that microsoft word and associated programs require a subscription. Id buy it if you could still do that.

Yeah, this is the way to go. I'm pretty sure there haven't been any transformative word-processing innovations since 2007. I just want to type words, get a spellcheck, and have the software get the fuck out of the way.Might sound silly, but I'm still using MS Office 2007.
Everything except for Outlook (they killed it) still works perfectly, but you can also buy much more recent non-sub versions of Office if you want for work. I've stuck with 2007 because I really like the first iteration of the Ribbon UI, and having no need for Outlook at home, there's never been a reason to upgrade.
