That's an Enhanced Edition I can get behind. Instant buy if it works well. I tried playing this a few years back and it didn't work well.

I thought this had a thread. were we talking about it in the BG3 thread, or gaming news?

some key info to think about for those considering to buy.

-Enhanced edition. not a remake. not a REMASTER either. this is more like the baldurs gate: enhance editions that came out a few years ago. works on modern hardware, new textures. but the art is still the same. Added gay shit I'm sure.

-Neverwinter nights 2 had HORRIBLE camera controls. it came out in 2006.
it was directed by Chris Avellone. core story is ok. Mask of the betrayer DLC is consider top 3 best of all time.

-NWN 1 and 2's status was also both built on modding, and player campaigns. you can still find some repositories. but, good luck..
without the persistent online communities, etc, its probably not really the same. its like playing warcraft 3 without custom maps.

maybe this EE, will smooth out the gameplay and controls a bit. but, otherwise I watched someone play nwn2 for the first time last year. and it didn't really hold up well.

I never got into this one like I did the original NWN, I know I owned it, but can't remember a damn thing about it. I can blame WoW for that I suppose, before there was Steam, WoW was the cause of a backlog of partly played games for me.

No remaster/remake will save me money at least. I can't even get to Act 2 of BG3 without fading out these days, I've tried a dozen times. No idea why these kind of games just don't grab me anymore, same deal with FPS's in my early 30's

Yet for some fucked up reason I can sit there and play Farm SIm 25 for 12 hours straight.

Getting old is a hoot. Next I'll be into watching soaps like my granddad did when he hit his 50's.

Probably because as young people we thought this looked fun instead of the pure nightmare fuel of a day it looks like now

Lots of options, activities, stuff to do everyhwere....

No, give me serenity and calm.

I mean, once you hit 40. In your mind whenever anyone says "hey you want to", how quickly do you think "no" before they even said the activity.

God the mods for NWN1 were amazing. I ran around as a naked bitch with extra bouncy tiddys and some crazy sword I downloaded doing classic modules people made for NWN all online with my RL best homie. Unforgettable.

NWN1 is the game that stalled out my Great CRPG Crusade a couple years ago. Had issues deciding between it and Icewind Dale, went with NWN, got maybe ten hours in, just could not get into it.

Not sure how far I progressed the "main campaign" and mostly just remember being lost in this dungeon with bandits in it (that's under a town) for hours. I had a scythe build where I prioritized weapon mastery and could get these huge critical hits with scythes. Think I switched builds to something else at the last minute though.

I've got the PC version of the original NWN2 (Gold edition) brand new, still in the wrap. Probably not going to need that anymore now that an EE is out, if anyone wants it for their collection or something. No charge. I'll end up giving it to a pawn shop or something later because I don't collect.

Kind of inspired to reinstall NWN1 and figure out how far I got, what the problem was, etc. Even in EE form it was just really stiff and dated, IIRC.

I bought it from GOG as they had it on sale and I further got another, I think, 15% off since I owned the ultimate edition as well. Only booted it long enough to make sure it works. I'm in the middle of Avowed and didn't want to get distracted by another RPG.

Anyone get into it yet? I played NWN 1 but don't remember much about it. I watched a few minutes of streaming on 2 and so far kinda iffy.

I played a warlock main nearly every time in NWN2 because of Flee the Scene, which gives the whole party haste. And 3.5 warlocks dont have spell slots so you can cast it infinite times.

If you aren't sure if youre gonna have time, just play a warlock and give the whole party an extra 30' movement a round.

I passed on it and a friend that's a big DND hound passed on it. Doing BG3 mod runs instead.
