This could be hilarious.
Next, they'll do a movie that takes place in a hot-air balloon on Christmas Eve, where a team of terrorists hijacks it, and the only guy standing in their way is an off-duty cop from New York.

Watched the 2025 remake of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (movie, not the terrible TV show from a few years ago).

Movie is alright as a whole, pretty much just beat-for-beat redux of the first movie from 1997 or whenever that was. The main character isn't as mind-numbingly hot as 1997 Jennifer Love Hewitt but she's gorgeous regardless.

The 2025-ness of the movie jumps off the screen pretty much immediately though. All the female characters are either lesbians or bi (the MC has an out-of-nowhere sex scene with a girl in a bathroom that serves zero actual purpose to the narrative and doesn't affect the movie in any way aside from letting us know that she too is gay). Also most of the girls have male names for some reason, like "Stevie" and "Tyler". When the fuck has a woman ever been named Tyler?

Anyway, that happened. Not sure why the movie needed a remake to begin with. At least it brought back some of the old characters for the nostalgia hit, but it was clearly mostly geared towards Gen Z who never saw the first.

Side note: Late 90's into mid-00's Jennifer Love Hewitt was probably the hottest mainstream actress I've ever seen.
