Took my daughter to see this. It was OK; she was a fan of the game/experience whatever it was. It was showing at River Oaks Theater, which is an old-school cinema, non-stadium seating, for instance, 4:3 screen, but she was hyped, so we went. Sound mix was what most people said about Tenet, music stepped on the voices in a few places. She said it was more inspired by the game than a direct 1:1 interpretation, with some body horror and some cosmic horror thrown in. Apparently this set a record for the amount of fake blood used, something like 80,000 gallons? I don't know. All in all for a first time writer/director of a thread bare experience it was super mid to OK grading on the curve. Some of it didn't make sense but I don't think its suppose to, for a movie about a guy welded into a solo sub on a moon out in space where an ocean of human blood has suddenly appeared after an event they call "The Quiet Rapture" has taken place and most of humanity (and the stars) have been winked out of existence, and you are looking for clues to explain the event and save what's left of mankind. No spoilers in that, its given in a voiceover prologue that we couldn't hear most of in the theater.

There were also a number of other concepts that might have been explained that might have been mumbled or Thundered over by the score that I only kind of figured out in the theater but had to look up once we got home, and several that were apparently in the movie I never knew existed because I never heard them mentioned but were inconsequential to the story of a dude and his bathysphere survival experience.

It's almost all just him in the sub, a few other faces outside at times, Troy Baker and Allanah Pierce have roles, game's creator has a cameo. Jeremy Johns' review captures it pretty well: Slow at first, then it goes places.

So probably 4-6 or less depending your tastes objectively, 7ish if you consider this is Mark Fischback's first real movie to write and direct, funded himself, inspired by a game but with way more in it because the game is less than an hour to play but the movie is 1:45 or more.
