Its actually could have legitimately been called targeting.

Targeting and Crown-of-Helmet Guidelines

No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent with the helmet, forearm, fist, elbow or shoulder. When in question, it is a foul. (Rule 2-27-14)

It almost had the element of a chop block where Lockett was engaged until the last second and Heath saw an opportunity. Was it part of the football play? Were they anywhere near the ball? Was it necessary or simply a chance for one player to unload on another? If people want to be serious about protecting players and keeping the game safe, then shit like that needs to be penalized, fined and taught to kids that it isnotpart of the game.

I've played a lot of football, I've coached a lot of football and I understand how brutal the game is. My college team was playing William and Mary and after my QBs 3rd pick, I was trying to chase down the DB and Darren Sharper hit me so hard I levitated and don't remember the next 2 days of my life to this day (I understand the irony from his later years). I know this game can leave a permanent mark, but it needs to be made safer or its going to disappear. Kids don't need to have concussions. Adults don't either. You get one brain. That kind of play from Heath needs to be eliminated and made to be understood its not acceptable or part of the game. It was a cheap shot taken not because it effected the play, but because one person saw the chance to hurt another.

Are we starting to lean towards football players are void of their actions and truly do not understand what they are getting into when they sign those contracts to play professional ball?

"What do you mean my brains can get scrambled, my body can get broken, and ummm..." *drools on himself a moment - "What was the question again? Oh yea - I got a great deal on this brand new wide screen television with complete Dolby surround sound!"

Of course it was part of the play. On any kickoff or punt the return team needs to block every player they possibly can.

Except he didn't target the neck or head at all was my point. Lockette lowered his head right in to the bad position. Blocker dude was squared up to hit him right in the chest.

Lockette caused this himself with his own poor form.HElowered his head and lead with it.

Which is a fairly normal response. Most runners of the handegg will lower their heads when being tackled.

Looked legal to me.

It's funny that you think those are in the same category. Why should the NFL investigate criminal acts?
I'm more implying what other company having all the info/evidence there was and having a judge say basically they believed he committed an assault and you get to keep your fucking job. After all the bullshit we have to hear about integrity of the league and protecting the shield. The NFL doesn't give a fuck what these guys do off the field, shit Jerry Jones is defending his decision to sign Hardy even after the pictures are out saying he deserves a second chance. I wonder if he would have the same feelings if Hardy couldn't sack the QB I'm guessing probably not. The NFL wants its gladiators out there on Sunday doing what they do best....making the Billionaire owners more money!

Not to mention the 15 games from the prior season. He got a hell of a suspension. Where are these pictures yall are talking about? Did they just get released?
He didn't get suspended for 15 games last year. He was paid to stay away from the team. Unless you don't know what suspended means.

Jerry gave Josh Brent, a perpetual backup defensive lineman, a second chance after he straight up killed his best friend in a drunk driving incident. Dude even served jail time.

Cowboys actually have a pretty extensive history of taking players and giving them a second chance as long as they're able to contribute. They believe in the support system they have in place.

Jerry is basically an angel, giving these poor neglected souls a second chance at redemption.

Yea another prime example of the NFL's bull shit...a guy tests positive for marijuana and they want to smack him with the ban hammer meanwhile Anheuser Busch is probably the biggest sponsor of the NFL. Alcohol destroys who knows how many lives each year and the NFL wants you to know just how great beer is. Seriously fuck the NFL.

When weed is legal and a huge sponsor we can have that talk, until then it's got fuckall to do with morality or hypocrisy and everything to do with money.

Why didn't the Cowboys support system work for Adam Jones? He had to go to the fuckingBengalsto turn it around.

Legitimate question... what's so funny about that? It's something that routinely gets brought up when there's discussion about bringing in players who've had issues.
Josh Brent was a Cowboy who killed a guy. Josh Randle was just cut. How do you not see the humor in your statement.

Chris Henry told him its hard to find anything fun to get you in trouble in Cincinatti, even he had to go fall out of a truck just for some excitement. RIP.

Seriously what all is there? Its been a long ass time since I was in Cincy. I mean, theres like.....the zoo, and..uh...King's Island which is pretty fun? I guess? Stick your dick in chili? Go fuck Furor's ex pill poppers nearby? There were a lot of hot girls there the last time I was there though which was a nice surprise.

Not for a lack of trying. They even provided people to drive and watch over him.

And technically he had to go to Canada before he got his shit together enough to make it onto another team.
