If it was 3rd and long I'd understand the shot more, but 3rd and 2 just seems too easy to hit something short and pretty much be in control of the situation, either getting the lead or OT but leaving no time.

I think he is our backup due to really only 1 reason. The locker room would revolt if we demoted Lynch for anything but injury related reasons. This year Rawls has been overall better for us. You could argue that's due to injury, but Lynch hasn't been Lynch this season that much. Lynch is seeing some abdomen specialist out east today due to what the team thinks is a sports hernia. I kind of hope Lynch misses another 2 weeks or so. Rawls definitely appears to be our future RB.
Seeing as how the cowboys have been signing all the castoff seahawk running backs, this makes me happy. Hoping that sometime soon rawls or a healthy lynch comes available.
