I was reading a tweet about the Leafs collapse and I wanted to post a reference to how we've been saying this was DEFINITELY the Leaf's year in the thread topic here all season.... Then I realized the icon next to it was a Nazi skeleton next to a burning Christmas Tree....

This is why I'm so hopeful for our future. No one on the Caps has ever even had a cap hit of 10 yet, and Ovechkin and Carlson come off the books after next season. Replacing Ovechkin's goals will be something, but with Leonard, Cristall, Protas' younger brother, and a few others in the pipeline (plus Lane Hutson's brother/clone Cole on the back end)...we're going to be able to toss some money at some big free agent. Thompson had his struggles but was still one of the better goalies in the league this year and is locked up for 6 more seasons at only the 14th highest cap hit for goalies.

Pass, although the interesting thing is I don't think we'd have enough cap to even do that, this year. After next year is when we explode in cap space with another rising of the cap and like ~$25M coming off the books.

Like any true Panthers fan, I only started watching a few years ago. I instantly respected the Hurricanes when I saw their coach Rod Brind'Amour. Dude looks like he eats nails heated in a blast furnace for breakfast and washes it down with molten lead.

Also watching the Canes skate around is making me tired. Give their conditioning coach a raise, Jesus.

Maybe the Leafs weren't that bad. Metro division bad. Panthers playing hockey better and dirtier than last year.
