This always makes me laugh. Winnipeg is one of the smallest markets. No one cares about them. But he wants to leave for an even smaller market. I guess its his polite way of saying living in cold ass Canada sucks. I wanna live in sunny California.

THey may be small but the media attention there is not. I don't really pay enough attention to the Jets to know if they really piled on him for the team bowing out early.

Last i heard he was leaning Carolina. 9 would be more than I would want us to pay (probably more than we can afford, too? Unless Milano goes back on LTIR or is moved.

Carolina is an excellent team in a market where noone gives a fuck about hockey players outside of the arena. That landing spot tracks.

Just rumor I had heard and landing spot made sense for the player. Caps really going to go youth movement in their lineup this coming year. maybe bring back Beauvillier on a cheapish deal now for some flexibility among the forwards.

The (false) rumors I've heard is Hagel for mcdavid and some change. It's all such fucking click bait, no way we can afford it.

But hell might as well put it into the universe and hope for vibes and chaotic luck and absolutely inconceivable notions.

As long as he doesn't end up in the east I'm OK with it.

There won't be any trading for him, and it won't really be a money thing, most teams will pay him whatever he wants.

Its down to purely where he wants to go. I think he stays unless they win the cup this year. If the Oilers do, all bets are off.

Well I can't like this because I want him on the Caps if he's moving anywhere and we'll have tons of cap after this year. But I like the putting all this out into the universe stuff!

Wouldn't he be more likely to leave if they came up short again? I mean if you actually win it there this year, monkey is off the back, only thing to go for next is to try and go back to back, which would mean staying. If they come up short again I'd expect him to look really hard at the option of moving to a potential contender who either could move cap space or prospects (some sort of sign and trade to help out Edmonton).

I think its a thing for some players to finish what they started. Now if they were going into a full rebuild then yea sure, but with Drai there I dont think hes leave till Drai got a cup too.

Looks like we dumped Howard to the Oilers for a 6'1 190lb center (at 19!) Sam O'Reilly. +88 (2 seasons 130 games) good two way player. Not mad at that at all. Hope he fits in.
