Holy shit! I was playing hockey myself, and got back to the locker room when it was 3-1 with about 2 minutes left. We all watched the game in the locker room. Then the overtime, then the second overtime. The rink was totally shut down except for our locker room which was full and the beer was flowing. That was a magical game! Holy shit. I really do think the best team won, but the Jets need to address their goal-tending.

Holy shit... Jets definitely earned it. But that doesn't discount that their Goal situation is insanely unstable at the moment.

Stars over Jets in 7 (6 if Robo/Miro are both back by game 2)
Knights over Oilers in 6
Caps over Canes in 7 (Breaks my heart as I'd love to see if Stanky could pull off revenge on Dallas in the playoffs)
Panthers over Leafs probably in 6.

I'm completely fine with whoever wins the Stars/Jets series but I'll guess its going to be the Stars.

Caps/Canes is a tossup
Panthers should win but the dream ride has to end at some point just like the Leaf nightmare has to end eventually.

I don't think the Leafs are the team to do it this year. Everyone evaluating this series acknowledges that Toronto has to elevate their play to a level they've rarely shown.

Even the most ardent BeLeafers say, "in order to win this series, we need the core 4 to play great, be physical, frustrate Bob, Stolarz has to stand on his head, all the defensemen need to be at 100%, stop being one of the worst 5on5 scoring teams, stop them from being one of the best 5on5 scoring teams, score on the PP against one of the best PK units in the league, and Berube has to knock PoMo out in a bare knuckle boxing brawl at center ice."

Meanwhile for Florida it's just, "Just keep doing what you've been doing for the last 3 seasons."

I like to meme on the Leafs, but it has to be this year. They have goaltending. They have blue line. If it's not this year then drastic changes will happen. AM has to show up this series or they are toast.

I worry about their goaltending and their defense. They started playing hardcore defense for the first time this year in the playoffs. The key to them winning is scoring a lot. They have the ability to do so if they would JUST TAKE THE PUCK TO THE NET MORE. But I still hope. I really want Florida to lose.

I'll say this, if the Leafs come out tonight and play a very good game (even in a tight defeat) I'll be impressed. Just feels like a spot too many times in the past where they would just be happy to have won a round while Florida comes out all business ready to put a 5-2 beatdown on them in Game 1.
