7 losses in last 8 games, it's tough to be a Habs fan right now. Good thing we accumulated wins early on as we are still totally in the mix.

I'll say this tough, even through this bad sequence, Habs are super fun to watch, we play some exciting hockey.

Injuries are obviously hurting us, but just about every team has injuries with these condensed schedule because of the Olympics.

I hope we stabilize things soon before we end up too far behind.

Caufield is scary every single time he has the puck in a shooting position. You just hold your breath hoping it hits your goalie.

Yeah the Habs look really good, very exciting to watch those games.

It appears that the condensed schedule is really messing with the "older teams" especially. Sometimes it looks like a few of them are just coasting along. Or maybe its load management / resting strategy? Seems like many clubs are happy to at least get the loser point more than ever.

That being said, it's still early in the season, and that Olympic break is really going to mess with everyone coming back. And really, the final half the season stretch is where it matters most. So I wouldn't put much stock on what's going on now unless you're digging a really huge hole.

Caps offense finally starting to catch up to their analytics. East so jammed, hard to make up ground, though. Going to need sustained wins.

Nice comeback win after ref almost instantly fucked us out of a goal near start of the game. Chychrun is on fire lately.

Ryan Leonard is starting to really find his game at NHL level. Goal and 2 assists tonight, Caps up 6-0 on San Jose through 2 periods. They actually have him on the point of our first power play unit with Chychrun and I would not have thought of putting him up there but it's really seemed to help. Figured he'd eventually evolve into taking Wilson's spot in the slot that Oshie used to have on our top PP group. Also way less concerned about rushes going the other way when it's not Ovechkin and Carlson up there (neither are spring chickens, obv).

Absolutely horseshit of a call tonight in the TBL vs PIT game. That is not in the spirit of the 2 minute rule or the spirit of hand pass call. Fuck Toronto bunch of fags.

That shit was wild. Reading Pens fans on one of their blogs try to defend the call was crazy. Should have counted.

Fun fact, that's Kucherov's 3rd goal called back this season. He had 2 offsides, one of which I think was valid, but the other? Well you make the judgement. The discretion of the possession rule as they go over the line has probably been the call with the most variance across the recent seasons since the inception of the rule.

Sounds like John Carlson last year, I might be exaggerating slightly but he had 4 or 5 called back last year for various goalie interference, offside, etc. Some of the offside stuff now I'm getting tired of them reviewing. When it's down to literal inches or less on some of these it doesn't feel like they're reffing to the spirit of the rule. Especially when the goal ends up happening 15+ seconds after the zone entry.
