The prospect is regressing as a 20 year old in the OHL, had a terrible World Juniors and the Rags ate 50% of the contract for the rest of the year and the Kings got a damn reasonable extension. Drury is truly terrible.

You cant really say Drury is terrible when Panarin gave him only one option. The Kings and Panarin had all the leverage.

Perhaps true for this treade but....
He turned Panarin, Kreider, Trouba, Chytil, Mancini and a 1st (12th overall) into JT Miller, Urho Vaakanainen, Liam Greentree, and Carey Terrance. Not to mention what he did to Goodrow and Kakko
So I stand by it.

Yeah I heard rumors he was wanting an extension with total value of $50M. 2 x 11 seems very reasonable. Wonder if the kid is regressing b/c his playing partner last year in Juniors Ilya Protas has graduated to the AHL for the Caps.
Also didn't initially hear Rags ate 50%. Kings win this deal easy, even if they win a round in the playoffs (2026 3rd becomes a 2nd), or win 2 rounds (2028 4th round gets added).
