Atlantic gonna come down to the wire lol. Not like it really matters, NHL playoffs seeding doesn't really mean anything unlike the NFL.

I'd argue it doesn't mean much 99% of the time but Montreal home games are a whole different beast.

Final game for Quick tonight, hard to believe. He was incredible during the Kings cup runs and so fun to watch.

Could be a perfect night for the Kings. Leading the Kraken currently and the Sharks 2 up on Nashville with 6 minutes to go.....we're still gonna get smoked in the first round haha

Man, if that's the last game for Ovi, going to be weird next year. One of a kind.

I get the feeling he knows it's probably best to retire, but he still wants to play.

He has nothing to prove. Greatest goal scorer of all time. He had his Stanley Cup. He has nothing left to prove. Just saw him in games against Montreal and while he still is deadly around the net, I felt he was way slower than before. Age definitely caught up.

Part of the greatest rivalry in hockey with Crosby.

He's absolutely a lesser player with how much he's slowed down. Wilson and Chychrun were close, but Ovechkin still managed to lead the team in goals (literally no other Caps has since he arrived, Oshie tied him once) and points. If he was going to return for another year, I think it would be because he sees the potential in the youth movement with Leonard/Hutson/Younger Protas. But they'd have to have some discussions about his role being smaller. No way would I want him playing the full 2 minutes every PP anymore. Some of its struggles I think were from him being out there very static in his spot.
