Do they have odds on Babcock making it to the regular season yet?

Tuch sign and trade to Caps. 8 years, $10.5M per. I know the cap is rising, so it'll be ok for a couple years, but that will be ugly in a few seasons. Definitely better forward group for this year, though. Crazy. Still have $12.5M in cap space.

I dont understand this signing for the Caps. They are loaded on the wing, especially right wing. And thats not including Ovi if he comes back for one last season.

Ovi plays LW. And if he comes back, it'll likely be as a 3rd line roll at 5v5/PP specialist. You move one of the right guys to their off wing on the left, and role Older Protas brother, guy that moved to LW, Ovi as your LW in the top 9. Beauvillier perfectly fine as a 4th line LW.

It'll age poorly by the end (assuming we don't end up moving him after Year 5 or something), but if cap keeps going up, it'll look less bad. When you're a team with no real terrible contracts, and everyone seems to only want to go to the same 4 teams lately (Vegas, Minny, Dallas, Florida)...overpaying for the top UFA (even if its a weak FA group) doesn't feel as bad. A future 3rd and cap space that we had to make our team better next few seasons worth, imo.

yeah true 5 years from now the cap is probably going to make that look fine, but i agree after 5 i think he's pretty much done much like pietrangelo who basically died this/last year at 36

Love what we're doing so far. With adding guys to top of the lineup, roster spaces at the bottom were going to be tough to come by, and too many guys to all try and clear waivers. Getting some mid picks for guys like Lapierre and Chisholm instead of potentially losing them to waivers is smart.

That's rough. Great fan base and a franchise just itching to climb to relevance but can't get big names to go there.

I remember when us Sharks fans were clambering for the team to tank enough to pick up Verhoeff. Walking away from this with both Stenberg and Verhoeff after nearly making the playoffs is pretty wild. Good times.


...and somehow we got Lin too. Wow.

Still shocked that Reid fell to the Kraken at 7. We desperately need a win in this organization. Hope he turns into what hes projected to be.
