I pre-ordered from Nintendo - physical. I want to get the switch 2 also but I haven’t seen it up to order
I bought our Switch 2 as a package on Amazon with a Pro controller. If they are OOS now I'd guess it was people snapping them up before the price hike.

Only thing I'm not big on is Link's face. Everything else looks pretty great though.

Zelda and Ganondorf both have potato faces, too. IMO, all 3 victims of overdesign since the NPCs look OK.

For me as a huge OoT/MM fanboy:

(+)
  • Environments look good and IMO do a good job of keeping the intimidating, hard-edge aesthetic of the 64 well. I would have zero problems if they decided to translate the same style over to a Majora remake; I think it would still look creepy.
  • I personally am happy they didn't decide to make it OoT: BotW Open World Pozzfest, though I know that will be contentious and some were looking for more substantive changes
  • Manual jump
  • Manual jump + climb to scale vines and cliffs faster
  • Glad Castle Town got the full 3D treatment instead of just being backdrops
  • Many NPCs including Saria look good, as do the enemies
  • Being able to transfer Rupees to the mobile app so that you can use them on quiz retries is a great idea because OoT doesn't have many Rupee sinks; Magic Beans and potentially some of the minigames like Bombchu Bowling (if you suck at them) are pretty much it
  • Hyrule Field orchestral remix was great

(-)
  • Aforementioned potato faces on Child Link, Child Zelda, and Ganondorf. Adult Link's face looks small
  • Link's outfit is also overdesigned
  • I hate, hate, hate motion controls, for aiming ranged wepaons, but at least they are optional
  • I hate, hate, hate BotW-style slider inventory management. Just give me the 3 C buttons or whatever the closest potential equivalent is

(Remains to be seen)
  • Difficulty (have they nerfed the damage enemies cause to make it easier? Hopefully not)
  • Rest of the music; I have faith in Koji Kondo, but I think trying to recreate the creepiness of some of the tracks like Forest Temple and Shadow Temple is going to be a high bar. I also doubt anything will top the OG Fire Temple music with the Islamic chanting, and literally no one was offended by it (I know a Muslim guy online who is a huge Zelda fan, and he loved it.)

What I would like to see:
  • Bundled Master Quest
  • Heroic mode or other "harder" difficulties, potentially a way to turn off Heart Containers/Pieces of Heart to make it easy to do 3-heart challenges
  • Unfreeze Zora's Domain after the Water Temple

Just a word I made up. "Pozz" was originally gay slang for HIV+. There are some degenerate "pozz fetishists" who get off on the idea of being screwed by someone with HIV.

More recently, it's been adopted by the wider Internet for infecting something with something else that is undesired (usually DEI), but I was not a fan of the BotW/TotK style at all, so for me, open world in Zelda is undesirable.

Yeah, it looks like half the game is “make this a refreshed pure homage to the N64 visuals” and half was “make UE5 look bad, and it’s on a Switch 2!!hahhahammauauhahahhahah”

I liked potato kid link, as he looks young not just “small” - I didnt catch Zelda or gannon

The environmental haze, mist, dust, JJ Abraham’s light effects etc all need to go and let us enjoy the visuals as they are… or at least turned down ALOT

Kikori Village seemed “too busy and over detailed” while inside the deku tree was great.

Thing is, I only see the visuals going one way if they are not “done” now, and that is to the /overly/ more detailed not less.
