Yeah, you'll just load your save and all the gates that are locked now will be open.

Related, YouTube people are fucking weird. So many videos showing how to exploit past the locked spirit runes to kill Raiju now and get gear way above your level and people just gobble it up like it's not pants on head retarded to do that to ruin the $70 game you're about to buy...

When they say the save data carries over, do they mean I can skip all this shit on Friday? Would really rather not have to do all the stuff in the demo again.
That’s what carrying your data over means. It moves your save to the main game as if that was your main game save.

Had no idea that was some later boss. Saw him from the roof and spent 20 minutes running around trying to get up there. Even aggro’d him by hitting him with arrows hoping to pull him down but he leashed. Finally gave up and moved on with things. Pretty funny, tried climbing those hay stacks for a bit but didn’t consider glitching into them.

Final Fantasy: Stranger of Paradise had a similar thing where you could farm a high-level Marlboro or something and get super-strong equipment drops, breaking the game before too long.

Didn't the same people make that game as this game? The Samurai/Ninja switching in Nioh 3 is literally the classes in SoP. Outfit changes and everything.

I beat Sekiro, Stranger of Paradise, and Wo Long. All of them took time/patience/focus, but were very doable. And yet Nioh kicks my ass. It feels like I'm just missing something fundamental about these games. I slash and dodge, slash and dodge. A bit like Souls, which I guess you're not supposed to play like. The dodge button being moved around from Souls is super annoying and there's no way to change it.

Main issue is that the enemies have tons of poise. I resumed my game about a third to halfway through Nioh 1 and I have an electric katana that looks awesome, but I can barely win any fights. Enemies have hyperarmor-like poise so I can't stall them for a moment, I have to try and get behind them so I can bash away for a couple seconds before getting out of the way.

The other main issue is that enemy attacks have insane tracking. I have to wait until they strike and then dodge super-fast because if I simply move out of the way of an incoming attack, they spin around mid-attack and track me with it. I can only really strike between enemy attacks, and only for a second because of their poise.

Basically every fight is a huge struggle and it feels like I'm playing wrong. I might have to give up on this series (yet again) but I really don't want to. Nothing has any "weight" like a Souls game and I don't feel like I've got a gameplay loop to adhere to (like Sekiro I'm trying to break enemy posture, Wo Long I'm looking for big attacks to parry....Nioh is just zip around, stick and move, feel super weak at all times).

If anything does succeed in hitting me back, my character has basically no poise and gets knocked around like a ragdoll; it's common for me to lose 75% of my health in one enemy attack if they land a couple hits before I can get away. I can take about 3 hits, maybe 4, from even trash enemies, and that's with the best available armor on. Level 54, and I'm doing missions that are labeled low-40's.

Try axe, do the quick quick strong combo, dodge through them or block. Repeat when KI allows. Eventually you get a ton of Ki damage you stagger everything but a boss with that combo.

Also.. get gud.

The main problem is I'm not sure what gitting gud actually entails with Nioh. What does the game expect from me?

Sekiro I had to git gud at deflecting and breaking posture, Wo Long I had to git gud at parries at precise times, Bloodborne I had to git gud at rolling through attacks.

What the hell does Nioh want me to git gud at? I stick and move and do chip damage until the enemies hyperarmor through an attack and hit me 2-3 times and I die.

I'll try that axe thing. I should have lots of skill points saved up since I grinded like ten levels all specifically to raise magic power. My spells are great and make short work of bosses, but I only have two charges of everything and no fucking clue how to raise the charges to 4 and 6. Says they're locked behind ????? Mission which is really helpful.

Rajaah Rajaah You can do all those things, deflecting and perfect dodge is a thing. All enemies have long delays post combos, even most bosses have large openings. 99% of the time dodging towards the enemy is the right move. Like Sekiro this game rewards hyper aggression just need the stats to not run out of Ki.

Can also use the quick summon attack even when out of KI yourself. It does good stagger and pretty sure has invul frames. L1 square on controller.
Last tip is get HP to 2k+ as quickly as possible, HP goes a very long way in Nioh games.
