Hey Wicked fans,

We have some important news, and we want to be honest with you. No Rest for the Wicked's 1.0 launch is moving from October 2026 to March 2027.

We share your excitement for the October launch, and we've felt the encouragement from every corner of the world. Thank you so much for that.

The honest truth is that we're a small team, and we're holding our games to a standard we won't compromise on. We're close, but close isn't good enough for our full 1.0 launch. The extra time will help us improve performance, tighten the class system, and polish the whole game to the standard you all deserve. We'd rather take a few more months than ship something that we know isn’t quite perfect yet.

This extra time also means more closed and open beta tests in the coming months, which means you, our community, can get your hands on it and help us shape the final 1.0 build.

We will have an open beta test in December. We’ll keep communicating on our official social channels about this.

We'll share more over the coming weeks. For now, a few key points:

1. Everyone on Steam who purchased No Rest for the Wicked before January 1st, 2027 will receive founders pack rewards, as a thank you for backing us through Early Access.

2. PlayStation pre-orders open in January 2027, so PlayStation players will get a chance to earn the Founder’s rewards at that time.

3. We will schedule a Wicked Inside for our players very soon. More on this on our socials.

Thank you for continuing to stick with us and being as passionate as you are, it genuinely means everything.

Love,
Moon Studios Team

Disappointing but better than releasing a half finished mess. I remember when they announced, I was predicting February or March was more realistic and was surprised they were far enough along to say October. Think most people were thinking the same timeline I was. Funny when people with zero inside access have a better read on your progress than the studio heads.

Saw their ceo posted a website he made. Interesting approach, seems to make more sense than the current dogshit websites that track video game scores.

And the details on how it works.

Their original timeline definitely seemed to be very ... ambitious. Did Mahler say anything about public testing for classes and other major changes between now and the new date? I still think it's a really dumb idea to just dump it all in 1.0 with only a small amount of feedback and then trying to put out all the fires at once post-release.

There’s an open beta test in December. No information about the closed one but assuming that’s happening before then.

Preview of the class system. Looks crazy considering there’s 24 classes. The build potential is going to be insane.

Started playing this with some bros yesterday and will say it's a nice change of pace.

This is a huge step up from the spastic nature of Diablo/POE gameplay that I just find obnoxious and quite frankly boring. It's by no means perfect at this point, but it's working from a strong foundation to build on imo.

Not sure I would enjoy this as much solo, but for a small group of friends this game hits all the right spots for my gang.

Also the art direction is perfect.

I've been playing the game on and off for a few years now. Great game... really love the overall feel of the combat and the art style.

When is it supposed to launch. I've been keeping my eye on it and haven't wanted to touch it until I guess 1.0 comes out, but it definitely looks cool.

They announced an october release date then like a month later said "no haha that'd be crazy, actually we'll release in march". So for now the 1.0 date is march, exact date later.

Cool, maybe I'll pre-order it or buy the beta during the holiday sale this year if it's still cheaper and maybe goes on sale prior to release.

Buy it during the winter sale. The price is going up when 1.0 drops so 30% off the current price is the cheapest it’s going to be. December is also the class open beta so you can preview that too. You also get a few minor rewards for buying it before January that you can’t get afterwards. A sword skin, a name tag thing, and a free house that has Ori Easter egg in it.

Coo,l that was my plan. I know it was discounted if you bought it before 1.0 and I was hoping at least it would also be discounted during the Christmas sale.

As a non-fan of "souls-like combat" but big fan of aRPG's, will i probably dislike this?
It’s not like Diablo or grim dawn type arpg’s but it’s not souls like combat. Maybe slightly at the beginning when you have no weapons, skills, armor it is a little but you get all that stuff fairly early and it becomes much quicker paced than souls type games. You still have to slow down a bit on harder enemies and bosses. It doesn’t really fit into a specific genre well imo because it crosses into several. I’d say give it a shot when it goes on sale. Even not on sale it’s a good deal if you like it, I have 110 hours in it and am going to fire it back up in December and March when the beta and 1.0 happen. It’s one of my favorite games ever and it’s only half released at the moment. Give it a couple hours and see. It’s pretty fun with a friend too.

I'm not a huge souls-like guy either, but that's not really an accurate description of combat in this game. I think it gets labeled that way, because it's the closest people can come to describing this type of combat in an arpg.

This is a lot more enjoyable as a coop game with friends, but I could see myself playing this solo here and there no problem. The world is gritty, dark and looks fucking awesome. We're only level 15 (max is 30?), so not sure what the "end game" is like but we're enjoying the ride so far.

Also you'll definitely want to play this game with a controller. I don't typically like playing with a controller when I'm at the PC, but this may have converted me.

Overall it's been a good experience and fun once you figure out some of the finer details.
