I’d never buy an odyssey neo at any price. At the price they are at you can get oled with better everything all around except size and brightness. Plus they are plagued with issues and post on Reddit among other places.

I have the 38" LG UW and I love it.

the one downside is that I don't have room left over for a 2nd monitor, and I don't really use a PIP setup with this one like I thought I would, so I still live in an Alt+Tab universe.

I've always suffered from upgradeitis when it comes to monitors and by the time I got what I wanted....something bigger or better came down the pipeline.


Having said all that, I upgraded to an 48 inch LG C1 based on a bunch of recommendations and like it so much that I don't foresee any more upgrades in the next 10 years or so.

I gotta say this 4080 FE is fucking ridiculous. 50% more performance than my 3080 FE, uses around 100 less watts on average, makes absolutely no noise due to basically having a passive cooler.

Overpriced, sure, but I just sold my 3080 for $480 in cash local.

I don't really see why people think the 4080 FE is that expensive. Just 3-4 months ago, people were paying this price for a 3080 ti FE, and they were happy about it, and this is a massively better card in every way (other than being hysterically large.)

The people that were happy paying that much for the 3080 are not the same people saying this one is expensive. The people that were bitching about the 3080 price and scalper pricing are the same ones bitching about the 4080 price. You’re taking actions from one group of people and applying it to a different group.

Not talking about scalper prices. The 3080 Ti FE was available for $1199 and only at Best Buy and was generally considered a good price, especially considering how powerful it was compared to a 2080 Ti.

The real issue is how long it took for the 30-series cards to actually get to most peoples' hands.

Yeah I thought about leaving scalper prices out of my first comment as those haven’t been a factor for a while. I’ve just seen the same people who were balking and bitching about 3080ti prices bitching at the 4080/90 prices too. At least here and the few pc nerds I know irl.

The only peeps that were buying the 3080ti were the ones that could not find a 3080 FE or any other model. The 3080ti was literally $400 more for like +7-10% performance.
