I saw that. There is going to be a not a bust but a transition, and corps are going to probably be getting a national security bailout on this one. AI isn't going away but hopefully this sagging of the whole bitcoin style will give way.
I think they have the tech to go for another decade, shrinking the dies, stacking shit 3D but they are coming to an end where physics just breaks down because they cannot go any smaller. So yeah there is gong to be a hard stop coming up unless someone pulls some shit out of their ass (Like they did in the past) But yeah, mores law has been stalling for the last decade and is coming to an end soon if a new discovery is not made. I have faith in humanity though but realistically if they cannot get AI to solve these problems in the near future, then AI is not going anywhere. 1nm is basically redesigning the whole thing, using new materials, stacked 3d layers, and engineered at atomic scale. Its fucking crazy what engineering is pulling out of its ass in the last decade to shrink these things. Wee talking about the most advanced machines humans ever made that look like houses, cost $400 million each and a die fab needs dozens to make chips.

I think this shit is far from bursting. 2nm chips on the way, Intel testing 1.4nm....I mean why wouldnt Nvidia pivot from gaming shit to AI where they are designing entire fucking rack systems with new AI focused chips? there is literally TRILLIONs to be made outfitting all those data centers with new shit...Gaming cards? LOL?

With any luck maybe existing fabs get sold and another consumer company can emerge while nvidea chases this.

The world as we knew it is just over, we are about to move into an entirely new phase of human history. I just don't know which way it's going to go, major economic collapse, corporations running the world or something else.

Whatever happens, I don't think we aren't ready for it.

Meh, I dont think so, not yet. Like I said, lots of stuff just not lining up for AI to rule over us yet. LLMs are not AI they are just another tool to do clerical work. Just one example, those machines I talked about above? Yeah, they have supply chains that go over 5000 deep all over the world. And whats going on in the world right now? US pulling out of being world police and protecting waters? Yeah if that suppl chain beaks down, there go the next iteration of chips because those machines cannot be built.

I'm too paranoid, we're all going to read

This is a notice of data breach , a third party vendor (always a third party vendor, not we're fucking cheapasses and hired the lowest cost sub) noticed a breach of data.

Way I look at it, it's not paranoia if they are really out to get you. You guys want to Co-pilot/ AI up your machines, have at it. I'm still pissed it got pushed on my Samsung Galaxy phone with no way to turn it off.

This not exactly new. Google has been scanning Gmail since the beginning for serving you ads along with things like adding events to your calendar.

I just didn't know it. I mean that's the epitome of invading my privacy.

Every account on every website ever sells your information, invades your privacy and that data is getting fed into AI even if the website doesn't say it. They are selling your data to brokers who do it at a secondary level. This is how the internet has always been. There's been enough documented cases of companies just straight up lying and selling your data even if you opt out. So remember that when you assume gmail will just stop because you hit the button.

This is why I use Brave browser on mobile and desktop. It has built in "do not track" features, built in ad blocker (works on YT videos), and is the most protective browser that I know of at the moment.

I'm sure some data still gets through, but its lightyears ahead of Google Chrome classic. Due to how secure it is, some things don't work. Like on FOH, if I want to see a video or tweet yall shared, I have to open it in a new window, it wont load in the comments. Likewise, if I want to see an ad, I specifically have to open it on Google Chrome due to the built in ad block. Overall though, its a big win.

I'm not talking about taking over our jobs I meant in the sense of how these price spikes are going to lower our standard of living across the board. As we've seen from the last 5-6 years the corporate greed and price gouging is out of control and they are willing to sacrifice their own product and customers for more dollars. Now picture this, everything we have in the current world basically runs on a server. What do you think is going to happen when the cost of server components starts to outpace their revenue? We are going to see services, companies and the like shut down like crazy. Old games, forums, you name it. Gone. The issue is going to be the time-frame between when that starts to occur and when AI starts to become feasible. You think these small businesses are going to be able to afford all these costs?

The timing is also very bad in the terms of the overall human outlook and political chaos currently enveloping the world. Something about Bread and Circuses and they've done the best they can to destroy every bit of entertainment we have. I've had to give up almost all my hobbies and settled on gaming due to the value it provides and now its' about to be gone as well. You don't think people are going to be furious when they are sitting at home with nothing to do and no money to do anything because wages aren't going up? We are already at each others throat every single day over politicians, which is insane to me.

It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better and we are just not ready for that transition, maybe if Covid and 50% inflation hadn't occurred. Maybe if the people in charge do something about that first we will be okay but I don't think they are smart enough to do so.

As for my grammar, it's a gd internet forum. I'm at the age where I don't care unless it's going to people above me at work. You guys are smart, you can figure it out.

Everything you do online is tracked and sold man. Everything. My favorite recent thing was google had to get sued and lose to agree to delete all your incognito browsing history. All the sneaky shit you thought you were beating off to? Yeah google was still tracking it.

I'm betting they didn't delete it either.
