My friends wanted to see this so I gladly went with them to see it again.

I do have one thought for this otherwise amazing movie
I "wish" he didn't die at the end and they just lived their lives as wish-drugged lovers
I would have been satisfied with that too. That ending or the one we got are the only ways it really could end once you make a "deal with the devil" so to speak.

Pretty good movie. Nikki actress did an excellent job. Her weird movements and facial expressions were very unsettling and the music changes during those moments amplified it.

And holy shit that brick scene in the car. I was expecting her to pop up and do something but not that brutal.

There's a lot of bawww online about how little the actors and workers got paid.

These dummies don't know how indie films work.

These dummies don't know Hollywood accounting.

People don’t understand movie budgets = actor salary as well. A film made on a shoestring budget isn’t going to have high salaries

Unless they had a contract for a share of the profits, then at best this will just be an opportunity to get roles that pay more like other actors in the past, The main actress in this probably will get plenty of offered roles that pay substantially more

I love how they were completely fine with their pay for the work they did....until they saw how much it made. If they thought this movie was going to be so successful then why didn't they forego pay for a share of the profits?

It's all part of the system. The Good movies pay the salary of the shit movies.

Welcome to socialism, Hollywood.

The real winners are Curry Barker and Inde Navarrette. I'd even throw in the cinematographer. Everyone else can be swapped out.

If you're the set designer and you're loudly complaining about how much you got paid, I say good luck trying to get hired in any meaningful way again.

It's called having a job. And it sucks.

Caught this yesterday after being told it was 'the best horror movie' some of my wife's clients had seen. Not bad, but psychological horror isn't my usual horror. It may speak more to what is wrong with me, but I found it harder to watch the middle uncomfortable points (sleep, restaurant, party game, etc.) where the line of 'crazy girlfriend' was getting walked rather than when she went full unhinged.

When watching, you know something is coming. Then bam, brick and steering wheel to the face.

I agree with above, I think him not dying would have been a better ending. They could become a creepy infatuated couple.

Is it a good movie? Yes

is it worth this record status of “super amazing”? Ehhh soso but not really it’s just to me an example of how desperate people are for something good to watch in theatres

this is no different and right up there with other recent horror movies

the substance 2024
Weapons 2025
So right on time - Obsession takes 2026

would of been cool and freaky if they had some sort of security feed or montage that she woke up and to find him at the car with Sara she went house to house mega sweeping the whole town till she found him

But that would be like “weapons” but speaking of that the ending and hearing the *snap* brought me to instant memory of the boy getting that witch with her stick

it’s funny in places where you have the “fuck that” feeling and if you have ever dealt with a crazy relationship then there you go but this movie was

“Pussies That Can’t Get A Girl: The Movie”

the minor taste of she’s trapped within could of been fleshed out more for true fuck she’s trapped in hell of her own body

And once again a wishing movie that lacks imagination and true potential of what could be in terms of making reality what you want but I’ll blame the low budget for that

Wish master
Leprechaun
Black mirror episode

this isn’t super reinventing as it is just a wishing movie using swim fan or the crush

Tough to watch, tbh.

EDIT: I split this across two nights and have just finished it. This really does feel like a modern day The Exorcist and seems just as culturally impactful.

I'm thinking the wish works by summoning some kind of trickster demon into reality. That would explain why Nikki is seemingly possessed, which is the reason for my The Exorcist comparison.

I also wish no one had to die other than Bear. It especially bothers me that Nikki’s life will be ruined, as there is no way she can avoid being tied to all those deaths. I would have preferred a more sentimental ending in which Bear apologizes to Nikki after taking the pills.

Overall, it was a good movie. However, I don’t think I’ll watch it again anytime soon... for the same reason as The Exorcist: it is simply too disturbing.

The budget on this is ridiculously small. Hope the actors got some sort of gross percentage.

This movie is great.
Picked up on a reel on Social Media today that Nikki/Inde girl didnt get paid for the movie at all? I dont know how much thats true. But if so, thats craaaazyyy. Though, they were bound to have no idea how much this movie would pop off.

I think its really interesting how the women that watched this movie are all mortified that Nikki is doing all of this stuff against her will. Meanwhile, all the guys, including myself, are all .. reminiscing?.. over our past relationships and can see bits and pieces of the crazy that we've all experienced in how she acts out against Bear. I completely get and understand how scary it is to be doing all of that against your will, but thats all off in fairy tale land. Where the guys POV is like "This bitch is just like that girl I dated 6 years ago. Completely fucking psychotic."

My algo's have completely zeroed in on a motive that I overlooked, though. Every time she does something psychotic, Bear fucks her again. Exaggeration a bit, but .. its almost on point. Of course, I absolutely did love fucking the girls that came to mind during the movie. Idk if that says more about me, or more about the idea that psychotic women fuck better.
