Saw this tonight. What the FUCK!

Does the zombie bell boy kill him? Or are the bell boy and wood man working for him the whole time and he's some sort of druid?

Finished it. Recommend. Reminds me of Night House in the sense of mystery you have to unravel yourself, along with somewhat similar pacing and beats.

Huh, I'm not familiar with Night House. I'll have to check that out, too.

I thought this was great. Fresh take on the haunted house genre. 8/10 or so.

The wooden creature was a golem. It was working for the blind sister but stopped when she died. That's why the orderly survived.

As for the bell, I don't think it can kill him but it will haunt him based upon what she said of the objects and people's reaction to them.

I'll need to rewatch this. I don't remember all the details but for some reason I was led to believe the antagonist was a druid the whole time.

You should definitely rewatch.

She was the grieving sister out for revenge. The husband had her killed because he was fucking the new girl and didn't want to lose his house and all the money he put into it. She is an anti hero at worst.

Maybe this wasn’t one to watch while working because after finishing it a couple of weeks ago I didn’t even bother to see if there was a thread here. Maybe we can throw it on in October during a horror movie spree and it’ll be better watching on the couch.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it. It's funny because I watched Caveat on Shudder a bit ago, and I believe the same person made both films. Caveat is ultra low budget, but that same blend of murder mystery and the supernatural.

This was a better film, but still a similar premise.

He did. There is an Easter egg with the bunny from Caveat.

I was kind of hoping that his movies would all have some connection after he added the main guy from Caveat as one of the mental patients (although with a different character name) and had the rabbit (although with cymbals instead of a drum) in the sister's collection of objects, I guess we'll see in his next one if more things kind of loosely tie together

I didn't consider that. That would be pretty cool. Thought both of the movies were pretty creepy, and would enjoy if he decided to tie his films together.

I expected this to be way better than it was. It’s an alright watch with some creepy elements to it.
