I hit it hard at launch and played the first 2 seasons. Haven't been in it since though.

I've watched a handful of videos on it and it looks really interesting and unique, but I don't play a lot of survival Base building type games. I thought about downloading it and getting on a shot just to go and explore and see all the crazy monsters and what have you. Isn't there some sort of loose story line or mission set but you can do to just get something a bit more structured out of the game, or is it really just a big sandbox?

Each season has a storyline attached to it. It’s not world changed great but it’s there and it’s fun.

it has survival crafting progressing as well. Patterns, research, building, weapon crafting and farming,

Well me and my friend are still playing this and having fun, around 175 hours played. Decided to support them by buying some currency, and ended buying house skin stuff.

I love building stuff, now I have a super cool looking house.

We're kinda playing out of order, we started with Endless Dream since it was new, didn't really enjoy it. Now we're doing Way of Winter which is much better. Next we'll be doing Manibus which was the original scenario.

It's hard to say how well the game is doing, they seem to be supporting it a lot. I don't see that many players though, but I see people's houses everywhere so people are playing.
