Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)

The poor man's Mission: Impossible with a dash of Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent that goes nowhere. Also they should have left the McGuffin as an abstraction, because it both makes no sense and invites a number of questions that the film does not address. Still watchable, but not great.

That is what is so great about having previews that tell you everything. You knew this before you watched the movie.

" Same action hero/Mercenary/cop/villain playing himself attempting something difficult with unrealistic action scenes while looking manly."
" Add in a sexy witty partner that is always smarter than the hero while working with a team. Yeah she is hot".
" Then we need the angle. Lets use an innocent actor. We can try for honest plumber with the next movie. This person will be cute but born yesterday innocent"
" Add in Plot about money/power/the way of the world"
" Add in one-ten villains who themselves are witty but killable."
" Main actor does not die, gets the woman or is happy not getting the woman and either gets the goods or pretends that was not what it was all about"
" wait one year and do this movie again."

What did you think this was going to be????

Most Guy Ritchie movies are the same. But they are also enjoyable watches. Sign me up.
