Slow build, but episode 7 was very good and a solid pay off for making it through.

Good episode. Sinatra, the character, is just bad. Like 1980s B Movie bad.

She has a secret underground lair and billions. Also when did she get OK with a gun pointed at her. That takes a whole different life style other than I am rich and controlling.

Interview talks about what to expect for next season among other things.

Will you pick up right where season one left off or time jump? Will you follow Xavier’s journey out into the world to find his wife? And, how are you going to split time between the outside world and the bunker in season two?
FOGELMAN All good questions. We are going to pretty much be picking up in real time. We’re going to live in both worlds. There is going to be a little bit of a start where we go on a journey with Xavier. A very exciting, emotional, big journey, and then we will also be living in our downstairs world of the bunker, and forces will eventually be colliding. That’s basically the plan.
Is this the end for President Bradford now that his murder is solved, or will we continue to see James Marsden in flashbacks?
FOGELMAN James has been pitching me “zombie Cal Bradford,” which we’re not going to do. (Laughs) We killed two characters this season where we loved the characters, and obviously loved the actors, and James is amazing and a big part of it all. I’ve done this before on other shows; what we won’t do and what you can’t do is change your story just to accommodate because you like somebody. Because if the story’s not going in that direction, it just gets worse. But will there be opportunities in real ways to do meaty stuff? I think there is going to be, yes, because it’s going to fit inside of our story.
We have a really giant three-season story coming that’s bigger than what people think it is right now, and it’s going to span a couple of genres. The show was set up and sold as a political thriller about solving the murder of an assassinated president, and by the end of the first episode, you saw that it was something else and it went into a different genre. The second season is going to do the same thing to the first season. It expands upon itself. We have a plan and, hopefully, by the end of all three seasons, people will feel like they’ve been served a complete meal and that it’s all one piece, even though they went through a lot of different journeys to get to the end.

I just finished this and loved it. Solid television, interesting setting, story, great writing and for the most part great performances all around.

I didn’t like the actress playing Sinatra, she just didn’t pull off the evil vibe convincingly for me, on top of that I thought her character motivations and how she got there was weak.

I’m looking forward to season 2.

i empathize with jane, wii tennis fucking rules

binged through it all in 2 days, pretty fucking stupid writing and characters for the most part but holy shit episode 7 is like 10/10 for anyone who loves world ending shit. That episode alone is worth trudging through the bullshit of the rest of the show.

I can't figure out if the writers deliberately wrote Girl Boss characters who are fucking retarded and make the worst decisions ever or if the writers actually think these are smart women. The insanely hot Dr. especially, its hilarious how she just floats from problems she creates and then walks away like she farted lol 10/10 though on depicting exactly how hot chicks think/act

will definitely watch season 2 but wait for all the eps and binge it, the pacing and drama is far superior that way.

they apparently already started filming season 2 so hopefully no 2-3 year waits

i hope season 2 revolves around the genocides Jane carries out in exchange for a switch 2

Just finished this up and its really damn good. It gets better as the show keeps building. Agree with the other comments that the ending was really well done. Looking forward to season 2.

Weird, I just finished and I thought after about episode 4 it just got more and more ridiculous (episode 7 notwithstanding).

The two biggest glaring ones were the awful tropes that keep happening in shows; Billy saying "I have super important things to tell you...but not til tomorrow." Instantly knew he was dead.

Then the daughter is in hiding, and of course, they do the "I'm a teenager, I'm going to ignore my dad and just leave without saying a word." Instantly knew that of course she'd be used to move the plot and create drama by being used against her dad. That one at least took a couple episodes to happen, unlike Billy where it was probably 2 minutes of screen time.

Otherwise the show was pretty good. Think we watched it in under a week.

Actually, the other massive, glaring issue I had was, you're the President and have your pick of thousands of women (figure 25k people, half are female, and maybe half of those are dating age appropriate). And this is who he picks? She's like that potato from Last of Us but somehow even less attractive. Sorry, but that's a bridge too far for me.

Have you seen our Presidents choices when they have a pool of billions? 25k is an awfully small pool.

I liked this show. Well acted, interesting story, and I give them bonus credit for it being a self-contained story. The mystery is wrapped up, the questions are answered - the answers make sense, the mystery wasn't stupid, there's places to go for a second season, but if there never is one no-one will be left hanging. Ep7, in particular, was some great TV.

I would complain that the last second save by voice recording was ridiculously contrived though.

I really enjoyed this, but the finale and reveal of the President's killer was pretty lame and disappointing. But, still, highly recommend.

The show is "good with some problems"

Its worth watching, it's not must see.

My biggest issue with the show was actually that they had a great character played by the right actor that they killed off WAY too early. Kinda like if the showrunners of Justified had just let Boyd Crowder die like the original script called for.
