Yeah I mean this is no different than the Internet we all grew up on, just kids these days are super trusting. And like it was said, shooting fish in a barrel because it's all kids. No adult is playing Roblox to play Roblox. I've watched my kids play it and it is all retarded brain rot.
I would say it’s a little different back when I grew up (and I’m toward the younger end of the forum) webcams were rare and videochat was relatively unheard of

My kid just plays stupid games like grow a garden and steal a brain rot and a lot of Godzilla games. And some game that is based off monster hunter that I ended up just showing him the actual monster hunter games and now he plays those. Open lobbies seem like a horrible thing.

funny storyI thought I had disabled chat on my son’s roblox account but I guess I didn’t. He came up to me the other day saying he couldn’t log in. Turns out his account got suspended. The reason? He put in chat to someone “you suck at this game” and they must have reported him. Guess I’m raising a little online shit talker.

I'm old. The internet I grew up on was we got an IBM PC the 2nd year they were out. Arounf '82 or so. The first online thing I could use was compuserve to look up stock quotes semi live and you paid by the hour. The faster your connection speed the more you paid. I used a 110 baud converted teletype modem. Then a few local BBS connections. Imagine nowdays paying by the hour to be online. 110 baud is about 1/3 of the speed of the modem in the movie war games.

Fidnonet and messages were sent at night between nodes when long distance rates were cheaper. I'm sure there were pedos trying to pick up kids then as well, or maybe just ask them how to use a computer.

I was on a few local BBSes in the early 90s. TW2002 and LORD were the shit. When I moved out to go to college the dorms had 10Mb ethernet connections. 30 years of peak degeneracy.

Didn't matter. I still met strangers I met online. Even had sex with a chick that way.

Luckily for me it was actually a chick and not some old dude

My youngest is graduating high school. He has played hockey since he was 4, and his whole hockey team challenged the parents to a scrimmage this week. I can't wait. The kids are going to absolutely slaughter us, but it's going to be a chance to let them shine with their parents around. There will be a lot of laughter, and a lot of making the last decade and a half worth while. The kids will take great delight in skating around us, and I can't wait for them to do it. This is a proud parenting moment. All those years of driving them to practice, watching games, coaching, all of it to give them a chance to beat the shit out of us.

I can't wait.
