Seems like they nerfed the shit out of breach. Seems like 90% of the time you only get splinters and if you're lucky you'll get a ring and a catalyst. On the plus side at least the splinters drop in stacks at the end now.

I'm currently doing bloodmage arc that uses undying hate jewel that increases life regen based on spell life cost and the support that turns life cost into physical spell damage. My arc costs 2k life to cast but I end up with 4k+ regen using zealots oath with 8k energy shield. Another patch where life sucks so much the "life" class uses ES.

Yea I haven't found anything in breaches as of yet. Mainly got currency from Vaal'ing perfect essences and getting the Hysteria etc or omens from ritual.

Expedition feels ultra crap as well.

I never even get logbook drops, but I hate that mechanic in PoE as well. Cant be bothered placing bombs and shit, it interrupts the gameplay too much for me.

Anyone beat the Unique Essense map? I got one shotted on Infernalist and got wasted in 1ms on the Warrior as well.

Ok - I'm bored of xbow lich. Got to L96, did all content. Sold everything (got 10D for my original 1D crossbow woo) and now I've got 75D to try something new

I found a happy medium by just using the one big bomb from atlas tree point and typically get 1-2 logbook/tablets per event. It's mostly worth as they are often 40-100ex with minimum fuckery to participate in.

I am tempted to try leap slam, but just thinking about going through the campaign again gives me pause. Especially as a melee warrior.

I love lazy one button no real aiming builds, would be more fun it if it was faster.

The problem with Extreme Archaeology is that you have to either give up L81/4 affix books, which are much more valuable, or you have to give up double affixes on the remnants, which drastically reduces the amount of quantity/rarity/etc. you can load up on. Not to mention that most maps have shitty layouts and you're lucky to hit more than 3 remnants with the big boom.

I bitched about the damn campaign more than anyone and the second time through with leap slam hasnt been that bad at all. Plenty of decent early game gear in the guild bank.

Yeah its also good to get accustomed to it so every time you do it its faster. Because you know where to go and what to look for even more every time you do it. I was fucking full clearing zones my first time around, lol.

Hit 94 and got rakiata's flow.....wanted to sell it but it really helps a ton with damage on any map that gives monsters +ele resist, so I'm going to keep it. Have done 3 Jade Isle maps and only scored one so far, but I hadn't realized there was a way to rerun maps via precursors.

Next one I find I'm gonna try and run it 2-3 times and see what happens. Still only around 10 div but my damage in 4-6 mod T16s has been pretty decent. My ES / Life could use a bit of a boost but I really need to land a jackpot drop for that.

Honestly that was probably the best drop I had all league and of course I end up using instead of selling, lol.

Exiting PoE2 makes my front chassis fans stop briefly. o_O

Anyway, finally got through campaign. My chief complaint is that WASD makes my wrist hurt in ways that almost 10k hours of PoE1 never has. A controller would probably help, but this was the same reason I ultimately ended up dropping Hades(which is a much better game). I'm not going to try while inventory management remains part of the game and switching between controller and keyboard is clunky at best.

A smattering of other complaints that are making it really hard to endure wrist pain:
  • Some blowhard is cockblocking item progression during the campaign. I'm guessing to provide "engaging" boss encounters.
  • Abyss mobs are overtuned. I'm still not sure what a lot of them do aside from varying degrees of green tentacled assrape. I expect this kind of shit from PoE1, it's worrying to see this here already.
  • Visual clarity already ruined. Worse than PoE1 in some cases. I care about it less in PoE1 because it has the tools to ignore a lot of shit you can't see.
  • Too many Abyss mobs and effects and my pixels go to shit. How is this possible on a 7800x3d and 7800xt?
  • The passive tree is really boring. There isn't enough competition for your passive points. I do really like the idea of weapon swapping and investing passives separately, especially clear skill on mouse 1 and single target on mouse 2. They need to lean more into that. Wish I got enough weapon upgrades during the campaign to maintain a relevant weapon, let alone two.
  • By extension, build making is boring, but not as much.
  • Still don't like sprint. Add turn radius and getting stuck to my previous post regarding it. Wrist pain probably isn't helping here.

Gamepad is such a massive advantage over m/k that it's absurd, even before you take into account the difference in wrist pain, RSI, etc. (which is a major problem for me these days so I definitely do count it). Take fubgun's LA build -- he was running Nova Projectiles with a 40% less damage mod just to have a gimpy short-range version of what gamepad does automatically for free. It's even better for the Xbow Lich build because that one doesn't have any skills that require placement like LA does (rods, tornadoes).

Once you get used to how left and right stick move the cursor differently it's not even bad for the vast majority of UI functions either. It's strictly superior for most passive tree stuff (especially jewel sockets) and the currency exchange, and I'd say it's slightly easier to use the item shop with it too. Only thing it really sucks for is crafting, especially if you're doing a lot of it. I'll put up with it for everything else, but there's no way in hell I would juice a bunch of maps or go fishing for 7% IIQ waystones without first switching to m/k to do it. The instill window is the worst design possible, but I guess that's perfectly on-brand for Delirium.

And imo the single biggest problem with PoE2 right now is that some people still don't have citadels on their atlas. I remember it being a problem when the game first launched and I still have zero on mine now. I was done with everything else on the atlas tree weeks ago but I guess I'm permanently stuck at 6/10 boss points.

I'm not that familiar with fubgun's build aside from it being LA/LR. Is he supporting LA with nova projectiles? How does a gamepad do something similar?

Because of the posting in this thread, I've come back to try PoE2 again.

I still blow at this game. Like.. really bad at it. I enjoy playing it, but I'm dying all the time, I assume due to my overall lack of maxed resistances, but I'm playing my first character in this league so I don't have any resources.

I'm playing this build
[0.3] Hyper SPEED Tank - HOLLOW PALM Monk Build - League Starter to Endgame (All Content) - PoE 2 Monk Build Guide
I'm level 34ish in Third Act, and clearing trash packs is fairly straight forward, but just getting passed Jamanra at the end of Act2 took 3 attempts.

Jamanra and Viper are usually the sticking point for certain builds

Controller is super easy and better than a keyboard and mouse combo, in town mouse and keyboard, in combat controller.

He uses Nova Projectiles so he doesn't have to flail the mouse all over the screen to target everything. Gamepad does this automatically, without turning LA into a short range PBAOE or hitting you with 40% less damage. If you hold down the button LA is bound to it's like playing one of those reverse bullet hell / autobattler games.

lol, seriously? That's an egregious amount of autotargeting. Another piece of the popularity puzzle has fallen into place.
