Did druid last season, going to go with merc tactician and see if I like it. I usually dont play the ranger archetype so may try to make some retarded melee merc later in the season, lol.

Damn that Martial Artist video got me rethinkin' my plans.

I was just gonna blast through with EDC until I respec into some kinda blood mage or demon mommy later, but now I kinda want to ring bells for a living.

It will ultimately come down to whichever DOESN'T have a popular streamer making a build and gearing template that a ton of people are gonna follow to make the gear expensive. Like if Fubgun, Jungroan, or Connor are playing something, I'm staying far away.

The irony is Chalupa monk got buffed in two separate patches. Pretty majorly in 0.3 if I remember.
The real irony is Chayula might be the best summoner ascendancy in 0.5 cause there's a unique that'll give the fragment things you pick up to minions and it adds up to like 150-180% more damage to minions so even if everything else is shit it's stupid scaling. Not 100% sure how it's going to go but it'd be pretty funny if it just became the best at an entirely unrelated thing.

Yeah it used to be MOST SPIRIT BESTEST SUMMONER, but they've added so many reservation things and spirit scaling that there really is options. I played a Druid with the hidden passive points summoner and it was amazing because the passives were meaningful. I'd love to see some monk summoners, ironically easier than gemling summoner because easier pathing to top.

So I just did monk 2 acts and yeah its pain in the beginning until you get hollow palm, ice strike, and bell. Then everything just kinda aligns and its OK.

Just a class that zips around like a crack head spamming abilities that kills shit off the screen - waiting for the "DROP" sound to circle back.

This season is the first time Ive actually taken the Druid to end game with werewolf frost lunar swipe shit. Using the two buffs and then the rotation and bosses are frozen and down within just a few seconds at most. Honestly, its probably the most fun Ive had playing the game because it still retains some of the original POE 2 theme of impactful combat. Im just sad that I started the season so late because I'd like to push the heights of it to see where it actually tops off at, but I just wont have the time before the new season drops.

In still clueless on what to play. Don't think Twisters is for me at all even if it's a good build. Not playing anything with Fubgun and bows either.

I just wish Skeleton Minions were good so I could just go Witch and spam an army of them. Not sure how viable that is now though.

I don't necessarily need speed clear. Just a defensive build that does good DMG on bosses and clear okay.

Then go monk martial artist and get the ascendancy node that turns your gloves into a body armor

Will keep an eye out what people theory craft on that Ascendancy. Herald of Ice screens pops are nice and they did show that off in their monk trailer.

I played a skele sniper minion druid build last season and it worked just fine.

The unique passives from minion druid are kinda nuts. And snipers plus fire wall worked great, unless it had a nerf for this coming season.

Spectres are generally better than skeletons, but yeah skeletons aren't horribly bad or anything, and it's also quite good for leveling since it instantly deletes bosses with sniper poison cloud detonating with firewall/fusillade so the issue is mostly the normal leveling(but the bug fix on living lightning might help with that? it now scales with gem level like it should). Reaver might also be decently better with melee splash and rage, need to see.

There's still a bunch of things for them to reveal that can affect your choices, specifically the Kalguraan skill gems(they'll likely all be interacting with Runic Ward so might be gimmicky but some might be useful) and the new uniques since there's a fair bit of them and they've only showcased like a third.

can you post the build?

I've been wondering about Chrono's new attack speed buff, and wondering what could be done with it. But haven't tried any attack builds, to really even know where to start.

This is kind of insane. I feel they're sort of backing themselves into a corner with tech debt/bloat on this? Maybe they have a plan in how they'll design future gloves to account for this but this just seems insanely powerful.

Same thing with the Legionairre gem thing. Like I guess they're just going balls to the wall and see what sticks. I'm actually totally fine with this approach as the end user but I would not want to be the maintainer of this game lol. Either way its nice to see them starting to take bigger and bigger risks.

I would hope they have some type of formula that handles it instead of trying to handcraft it all. If they pull this off though, it'd be nice as a lot of the other ascendancies are severely lacking in being powerful and/or unique.

For gloves it's basically mod a > mod b conversion so it's not so bad BUT uniques are all handcrafted, which means making 2 versions of every single unique gloves, which is pretty fucking stupid.

Another stupid one is the Gemling alternate quality, where every single skill has an alternate quality only for that ascendancy. A complete fucking waste of time in my opinion, sure it'll have some good stuff but it's a ton of added work for just one ascendancy, it seems absolutely stupid. I'm sure they'll shortcut a lot of the quality to generic %speed or more proj shit and what not but still.

They had somewhat done this with Shaman too, where you get Bonded modifiers on runes, which up until now wasn't so bad but now they're adding another 200 runes or whatever the fuck so I don't know if these will have a bonded modifier or not. Oracle also has its own nodes on the trees, they sure like adding more work for themselves.

At least in this case they've shown they're willing to add the mechanic to other sources(the Fox idol was changed to allow other classes to get bonded modifiers, but only in the same item so mostly chest and like darkness enthroned stuff). I expect the Gemling quality will have a way to be used in a similar way, like a support that makes it so other gems linked in that skill will grant their alternate quality and such.

All of this kinda screams they're gonna have to rework every older ascendancy to have its own new thing though(or make it not entirely dogshit, like fucking Smith of Kitava tempering nonsense).

I think it just shows they want Ascendancies to actually be UNIQUE unlike in POE1 where a lot of ascendancies are just more of x mechanic or less of this or this mechanic happens when that mechanic happens. These Ascendancies are, almost overwhelmingly, so unlike each other it's like adding more and more convoluted layers each time they add one. I'm for it, but it really means balance has GOT to be near impossible when you've got people getting different values from same skill gems, people getting more passives that are only for them, people modifying jewel slots, people getting augmented runes, people getting more rune slots, specialized item slots, etc. It's just a ton of shit. It's very cool in theory, but balance is going to be a problem.

I'm all for shit being more powerful than less powerful, but being those less powerful Ascendancies is going to feel really bad until they eventually get a re-do like when PoE1 Ascendancies get giga buffed after like 3-5 years of being mediocre or worse.
