Congratulations they're importing the poe2 atlas. Well played Jonathan, you got us good.

This is a good QoL change from PoE2 that I'm ok with them backporting. I really hope they don't turn the atlas into something like 2 though, just improve on what we like about 1. I get the impression that the player bases are more distinct than GGG expected.

Huge for me. Going back to PoE and not having it is obnoxious. I keep thinking I can pause and realizing I can't.

Now give me the identify all feature that the hooded one has and I'll be very pleased.

Same. When I gave Phrecia a try I was short wisdom scrolls a lot during the campaign. PoE2 got me picking up more shit and in PoE1 you can't actually identify all that shit that drops.

This whole thing will continue to be a clusterfuck until they actually pick a game.

This.

Allow the community to support PoE through shit like EMUs, but otherwise put it out to pasture. All good things end and PoE was the best ARPG since D2. But, it's quite clear they can't support development of both. Let it go.

Why not do this, but make some big blowout way to go. Tell everyone it is going into sustain only mode but there will be one last mega league.

Like redo the atlas one more time and implement some sort of way to customize it like legacy league so that people can always go back and do whatever they remember being fun.

Is PoE1 not profitable enough to warrant hiring some additional dudes and continuing normal development? It's crazy to me that we don't even have the official PoE2 launch and it's already an either/or situation.

Nothing on the market comes close to PoE's build creativity and progression. It would be a mistake to discontinue active support to instead focus on "please follow guide" PoE2.

Letting the community develop, which I sincerely doubt Tencent would allow, I think would also be a mistake. The dichotomy of first party(GGG) and third party(community) fuels a lot development. That relationship would fall apart if it's just the community.

Also, PoE2 got some decent sized patches recently and has another one scheduled soon. It's possible the mismanagement has been corrected.

They are a NZ company and have all kinds of rules about residency in NZ to work there.

They probably already employ every single developer in their country and would have to rely solely on imports willing to move to the ass end of the earth and get paid in monopoly money.

So like couldnt they just open an American office and shove their art or programming or whatever there? Hell I hear theres this fancy invention called in internet and you can work for companies in foreign lands with it. They got away with that thinking when they only more or less put out quality stuff but PoE2 has been anyhitng but and they clearly need the help.

NZ says your employees have to live in NZ. They can maybe get away with consultants and stuff, but GGG built an in-office culture where they workshop stuff together and I think they want to adhere to that, even if 2/3 founders are retired now.

I think they're kind of local legends in the NZ community at this point and doing anything to hire people outside of it not in their fully eastern division would look really, really shitty.

Huh weird. TBH I wouldn't really hate that here, the amount of farmed out work to India in the marketing industry is fucking annoying.

I don't hate the idea, but doing it in NZ seems...suspect. What's the population of that fuckin island? Less than 10m?

Pretty shallow pool to draw from.

Mmm, mapsack. Honestly, being able to reroll Guardians is also pretty damn nice.

At this Point I hope they do what under_arm did on the original boards and wait years only to say "Wakandan dick" and then vanish.
