Oh wow they backported the Minion accuracy buff from PoE2, minions now always hit. Made sense in PoE2 cause you had no way to scale accuracy almost(and the aura was more shit to use) so didn't expect that in PoE1. It isn't that big of a deal after they buffed minion accuracy like 2years ago but still.

Hmmmm, if you assume a concentrated divine flask, you make up the damage lost on pconc. Bouncing variant did not get as much of a buff from the life flask. Both are probably fine, especially since life flasks are easier to maintain from the passive tree.

Econc, not so much.

I don't quite get taking a big ol dump on the different blink arrow mirror arrow bama stuff. Twenty percent less damage and cutting all their durations from 20s to 5s so Fresh Meat Support is ass on a build that wasn't exactly meta.

BAMA was incredibly meta.

Here's the week one PoE Ninja for trade 3.26:

Flew under the radar for a bit because pob didn't know what to do with it. I still don't think it's 100% accurate, but it is close enough now since the damage was bonkers. Still is. You just gotta play the poison version.

Still probably the best minion build. And totem build.

But still minions. And totems.

I'm a little salty about the elementalist golem nerf. Coulda went to 75% instead of 50%. Meanwhile they didn't touch Trickster ES shenanigans and barely nerfed one step ahead

Unfortunately I think a lot of the true build cooking won't happen until we see all the bloodline ascendancies. Very much hope they show them all before launch as I think they'll be very important in determining people's starting builds.

Also, more new uniques being shown wouldn't hurt. Those really get peoples brain juices flowing.

I also enjoyed the part where Mark confirmed they're no longer trying to court new players into PoE 1 anymore. I'm glad they're basically acknowledging that the game's playerbase is just slowly going to attrit out and don't really give a fuck.

Not sure those matter that much for league starter builds, since you have to kill endgame bosses just to unlock them. I'm fine if they show them but I think it would be more fun if they didn't reveal them until launch.

Anyone that wanders into POE2 from outside the GGG ecosystem will invariably try out POE1 if they maintain doing a new league every 4 months. That alone will keep it going for a helluva lot longer.

Yep as one season dies, like they always do, hop on to the other game with a fresh season waiting for you.

Looking through the patch notes and I can't believe Overexertion didn't get nerfed. I swear to god, Slams are basically the only melee skills GGG actually like/pay attention to.

????

Molten Strike, Lightning Strike, Frostblades, Smite

And there are warcries that exert strike skills as well.

Strike skills have been the kings of melee for a long, long time. Last league was an anomaly for melee.

I don't really buy that "strike skills have been kings of melee for a long time." They've had their moments, sure, but most of the time they've lagged behind the true heavy hitters - namely slam builds and anything that abuses scaling from exertions, Impale, or absurd base AoE.

Molten Strike hasn't been relevant for ages outside of extreme min-maxing (and really only when Molten Strike of the Zenith got added in Ancestors), Lightning Strike is carried by projectile scaling (which isn't even really melee anymore), Frost Blades is basically a ranged skill in disguise, and Smite's main appeal has always been aura gimmicks, not raw melee power.

Meanwhile, slams have consistently gotten mechanical and numerical love. Between Fist of War, seismic scaling, exert interactions, and all the reworks over the years, they've been GGG's clear favorite. Every patch cycle, if something melee gets touched, it's usually a slam skill or something that benefits slam archetypes.
