Usually good way for shield users is shield mastery for 20%, eldritch implicit for ~15%, another ~25% on your shield/boots if you can afford it, and then a good 40-50% shock avoidance abyssal jewel and you're there. Can also find good Abyssal's with 20-25% chance to avoid shock as a corrupted implicit.

Made it to red maps with around 250k dps using Ele Hit or whatever, but aside from a decent 6-link from the tree that funded my whole build, have yet to really see anything beyond 2 exalts and a handful of chaos.

All my labs are done, think I'm around 60 atlas points and did the first maven quesr fight.....struggling to continue on. I know I have a ton of things I need to work to solve but unless I get some magical expensive drop it feels like it's not really possible.

The main problem is I don't know shit about crafting so I rely on trade. Way easier this league with async, but hard to do when you have no actual currency. Should I just go all in on scarab nodes and hope to hit a few jackpots? Really unsure how to progress in this league.

PS: Escaping from the breach hives is terrible; I'm sure I need more survivability but most times I just logout and burn a portal because it ramps up fast and after 30ish seconds I get one-shot.

How many leagues have you played to maps? I bet I am at 10-15 now and I still don't totally understand crafting. Hell, it took the best crafting league ever, Harvest, for me to even attempt it.

However, you can start to understand it by going to craftofexile and watching their intro to crafting video. Get a good understanding about bases, prefixes, and suffixes. Then you can start looking for better gear combinations.

No way to get the avoid shock on there no, not without using recombinators and a lot of luck.

Best bet is craft a thing you want then use foulborn exalt to hit a big res

You can hit 100% shock avoid on a belt though if you need to with stygian + essences and a big roll on an abyssal jewel

Searing currency on boots can give 30+ shock avoidance without sacrificing a mod somewhere else.

I also anoint Crystal Skin to my ammy for +1 Max res and 20% ele avoidance. Yes, I am a Stormshroud proponent. It is my savior as melee.

Yea Stormshroud is about as free as full ailment avoidance has ever really been.

Ancestral Vision is also really good if you're suppress cause you can combine it with a single shield/boot mod + implicit, but it is often more expensive

Think this makes 3 plus one I stupidly started on standard, but that one I quit after around yellow maps.

I do want to learn crafting at some point it just is very intimidating....not to mention there are a ton of activities I have yet to do much with.....ie: Sanctum / Heist / the temple thing with transportation / delve / etc.

My best league was Settlers by far where I was up to 8-10ish mil DPS LS Slayer and was able to farm some nimis.....had Uber Exarch / Eater / Shaper down pretty consistently and had hundreds of divines, but it took a lot of outside help from this forum to get there.

I still feel like a noob for sure, game is pretty overwhelming to me. Doesn't help that I chose a pretty glass cannon build this league but I've been enjoying it for the most part.

I finished 4 stones, made a couple of necro builds that I hated and blew up 40 div of my 100 div gear/build swapping.

Might have gotten my fill of the league unless next patch adds something sick to build around.

I really want to like HRoC but I'm having a few fundamental problem with that I can't seem to solve. The Holy Relics are mostly sturdy but on heavy AoE fights like special Maven Invitations, they go splat quite easily. I've even managed to get them killed in just fighting the Redeemer. I think I dragged them through some tornado somehow, but didn't kill myself? How do I keep these fuckers reliably alive?

The clear is underwhelming when monster HP exceeds their per hit. This is especially noticeable in jam packed breaches(the only good ones, btw), throngs of monsters chase you around while the Holy Relics just kinda "chew" on them, slowly(for PoE1) whittling them down. For the most part, it's fine, I kill more than fast enough as I always stabilize, just feels bad when I know they could be performing otherwise. I'd like to incorporate pops somehow, but not sure how to do that cheaply.

If you're not using a Dark Monarch for double HRoCs you can just link up some zombies or offensive spectres with phantasms. Then you get the 5% minion health recovered on minion death which triggers every time a phantasm is re-summoned by hitting/killing a mob.

As for hit damage, the poison stuff is ramp damage so it's just not as good for clear. The only thing I can think of is a Witchbane foulborn which are probably 30 divines now for chaos pops on you/minion kills on cursed enemies. Also mobs that die from poison damage over time actually count as "your" kill so you may be able to source some explodes from somewhere else.

No, you just use windscream on the AG as well to give an extra curse, and anything you or your minions kill still gets the pop.

Having played with Kinetic Rain a bit more now, it's a decent addition, but I think the nerf really hurt it as a skill you can build around. As a league starter? It's great and probably something I'll run on most of my INT stacking builds. But as an end-game skill, it's pretty damn mediocre. Once you hit red maps, its flaws really start to come out and it's pretty shitty as a bosser too.

I think with an Ashes and quality on the AG gem, they have enough movespeed to zip around the map ahead of you fast enough. it works in practice when I'm mapping. the pops look like little dust explosions and chain through mobs while I run around even if I'm not spraying lancing shards.
