Ya that kicked my ass. Farmed up about 3k in chaos with essences over the weekend, went to cash in for some divs last night and was a big wtf. Got em down to 320/div overnight.

In terms of snapshotting? I believe so, but I'm a bit ignorant here as most snapshotting is clunky to the point of unplayable. A self resurrecting minion is a tolerable amount of clunk, especially compared to what you get.

BV itself basically removes the clunk of snapshotting by lasting "forever". Meaning it works off the damage on the first cast and as long as you don't let it drop you never have to use the "snapshot" tech again until you change zones. This is still annoying if you do a lot of in person trading or are doing fast mapping strats.
Anything that you can stack the way you can stack minion life can probably come close? This is probably the least annoying method out there though.
EDIT: Looks like it's being used alongside the new Companionship Support. That combo probably makes it unbeatable for scaling the snapshot, at least for now.

You can do it on reap ignite and not have to worry about keeping up a permanent BV.
Reap ignite will clear map content without a minion to sacrifice just fine, use a marionette companion that respawns to always have a giga ignite for bosses.
Be a chieftan and wear a diamond shrine belt so you don't care about ignite chance and all your explosions ignite and clear 5 screens at once.

This was from a few days ago. Meatsacks are BIS for health, but only for uber bossing as you basically get one shot at the snapshot. Marionettes are like Ronne said the best as they constantly respawn. Another option is Elementalist with Liege node because those golems can get QUITE beefy and respawn every 4 seconds.
Also some sleeper ones such as Sentinel of Radiance (the flesh/flame costs a whopping 30c combined) and Absolution and you can even use Inspiring version as your main spell.

Might as well go whole hog and use replica atziris acuity. But a chieftain without quicksilver sounds so good damn slow.
