Starting to agree with all the complaints about it being a poverty league and being a squishy melee on top of it is leading to some headaches. Coupled with lots of arpg time stacked back to back for a while now and not sure i'm even gonna stick around long enough to finish the atlas.
Mobs with block attacks are stupid and take forever, doubly so if they are crit resistant on top since i'm a crit build. 4400 life and some mid evasion/block/tiny suppress (still broke and level 83) leaves me getting almost 1shot by random shit even in t5/t6 maps. Haven't gotten a tink since the 2 divines I got at lvl 38 and 48, and it's not like it's raining chaos or anything with just some bad luck on tinks, either.

You make my FOMO go away a bit, though it does sound like they are working on certain things. If I hadn't played way too much of this POE2 league I would have definitely rolled up a char. I am a day or two away from taking a long break but I had a lot of fun in 3.28 or whatever and then POE2 .5 was a step in the right direction.

Currently it's a league without anything in the way of endgame farms coming off of a league that provided a lot of different options through the interaction between Mirage, astrolabes and scarabs. Working with just astrolabes, scarabs and the other traditional tools there's just not a lot there. It doesn't mean you can't make money but it does mean that the basic carrot/treadmill mechanic of upgrading a character to farm harder content for more upgrades for harder farms is shallow this content cycle. It doesn't help they nerfed Breach about eleven different ways to then also have the Abyss revamp miss the mark in a league with zero juice coming off a league with a bunch of juice.

they are gonna do the most GGG thing ever. Push a buggy patch live on Friday, do nothing for 3 days, post 2nd what we're working on around Tuesday, push another patch out next Friday, slam a couple of hotfixes and call it the league done and peace out. Just like they have done for years.

Well if it helps any, maybe it's just me having shit luck. Watching random youtube videos of peoples league starts/progress while eating dinner and some of them are getting tons of drops. I did manage to get 2 whole divines in like 8 hours of playing today, though (1 from a voyage 1 from a map)!

Yeah, it could easily just be me being on the shit side of rng. My leagues seem to work out to either average 1div/4hrs or 50div/hr with it just raining tinks and good stuff on me (2 leagues with raw mageblood drops, etc). Actual league mechanic is enjoyable enough for me, too. I don't dislike it, I just dislike never being able to actually gear a character out in my trash rng leagues.

I mean if you would use a crafting item, use allflame instead for a general rule. But also, you want to save it for the high risk crafts. So like influence exalt slams, vaal orbs (can they even be used on all flame? probably not). Save yourself some divine rerolls.
I'd expect they're very good on memory strands however. Those I would use in the beginning stages.
I haven't messed with it too much apart from crafting easy map progression gear but the sky does seem the limit. The only thing is you can only use it a few times on a certain item before it your instability is too high and you can't use it anymore. That's why you don't use it with rerolling essences/alts

I get like 1 Manyshot every 15 maps or so they seem way rarer than the toxicologist for example. And I get a buncha those annoying cruel mistress mobs even tho I took the less int node.
best I’ve done so far myself is a vaal ice shot with no icicle rain and no dash.
Haven’t personally found a return Vaal ice shot yet, I did buy one but has icicle rain. Honestly still seems better than the no rain no return one. It also has hatred which I think makes a big difference since I also do dmg with the build I’m doing

I've been progressing a lot slower on luminary then other builds. Basically everything is upgradeable and it's hard to know where the biggest upgrades come from early. I've never played a character with so many paths and dimensions to upgrade. Luckily I have been able to craft most everything I need. But currency is coming slow and playtime is limited.
I'm really wondering what sleeper mercs are out there that people might be gatekeeping.

I'm level 98 and i have the same map nodes for less int/str and more ranger+witches...Manyshots are super rare like you say so this was unbelievably lucky...I feel like see one manyshot every 50+ maps or something. if i already had a good merc i wouldve gone high, like 350d and brought it down if it didnt sell for that much.
You can try and look up captain lance for merc bot build. But basically get 8div for a decent enmity's embrace and a few chaos for untouched soul. Buy a lioneye's glare bow for 100-200c if you want a manyshot, but the skills and supports it has plays a big part. I haven't tried any other mercs so sadly i can't make any sleeper suggestions.

Enmity’s is too damn expensive for a league starter. Dunno bout you guys but I try to save currency for my next build , not splurge 8+ div on my starter. I’m up to 50 div just doing garbage chart runs on my gimped ice shot merc and don’t see the point cranking it further.
What id like to know is what is the best *cheap* upgrade for my many shots gear. I haven’t done crap. I have the gear they came with. Given that I provide an assload of added dmg then it seems my upgrade paths should be attack speed, crit chance, crit multi or % fire dmg but I’m not sure what I should go for first. Also I know I need accuracy but I’m not able to tell how much total I need on my gear(not sure where it even says mercs miss rate). And I don’t even want to blow a div for a lion eyes, I want to spend like 5-10c
per slot max and just want to figure out what to go for first or craft first.
Next build needs to be a legion clearer and I know I’ll need sone giga currency for that

If you have 50 div, why not just buy enmity and try it out? Can just sell it again.
For rares as a start you want;
1.Assuming you use enmity, fire resistance, (untouched soul might be enough on its own i don't use it so don't know.)
2.As much increased damage and attack speed as you can get, so mostly weapon ele damage on a stygian belt and a attack speed quiver (quiver can have inc bow damage and crafted wed and attack speed), your merc doesnt have a lot of inc damage or attack speed so everything is almost multiplicative (also %attack speed on the abyss jewel in the belt)
3.exarch/eldrich implicits, rage on your gloves for sure, frenzy on chest
You need like 3000 accuracy to get 95%+ hit rate.
A 83 lvl manyshot has 146% increased accuracy and 367 dexterity as a base. Thats 754*2.46=1854 accuracy. lvl 20 Precision is 700*2.46=1722
Total 3576 with just precision. So you shouldnt need any accuracy on the mercs gear.
There's lots of other stuff you can upgrade, especially since you want to gear yourself as well. And the skills/supports your merc came with play a huge role

Well I've been progressing slowly as per usual, just about to get into red maps and roll over level 90, but I will say I am not HATING the league. The rewards in the mechanic definitely ramp up substantially as the levels increase. It is still a bit of a slog because it completely removes you from the Atlas progression, but I am still liking it in passing. With choices like Delve or Heist and the new mechanic taking you out of the Atlas, progression can definitely be slower if you are a completionist.
The Winter Orb build struggled for a bit, but has gotten a lot better with all the Ascendancies (defense) and about 4 Div in a 6 link and a unique projectile wand (offense). Removing the need for multiple projectile support makes a big diff.
Anyway, I am def not going to do a Luminary secondary character. Might do ED/Contagion, but not sure I want to do another caster.
Best thing so far about Alllflame is one of the orb drops sells for about 200 chaos, so it has made my bank happy. And my ability to reroll stuff lol.
