Build a time machine and fire Cuckmann the moment he started thinking about forcing out Amy Hennig. Without him taking over ND, the push for ugly women/tranny fetish and the rest of the woke shit isn't strong enough to gain traction company-wide like it has.

Only other positive outcome is the company fading into irrelevance like BioWare, which, also like BioWare, is really no loss at this point. Their real talent left years ago. Uncharted is done. Last of Us was turned to shit. Their next game will make TLoU2 look like Stellar Blade by comparison. Insomniac will last longer because of the Marvel licenses, but that is a far cry from what it once was too thanks to Disney.

Yeah after Inter-Galactic bombs hopefully that will be the nail in the coffin for most of Naughty Dog.

While Asha is cleaning the business side of Xbox it doesn't look like she's addressing woke culture.

Aside from that we live in strange times. Early access, crowdfunding, more advanced tools and now AI, the talent is simply too diluted with small indie studios being able to make great games but not necessarily match the production value of triple studio in most cases.

I'm old and just rambling I guess. I miss the good old times where the only thing that mattered when making games was fun and quality and not social issues and ways to monitize stuff and that's from someone who more tolerant than most here on both issues.

If they didn't have a trade in discount and the new TV? I might go ahead and get a pro with a disc when I get a new TV.
I completely understand wanting to have the newest and premium products.
I wasjust trying to justify getting a pro myself. I don't know if I'll trade in my old one though.

I have the OG PS5 as well. I wasn’t considering upgrading it, but a PS6 without a disk drive is useless to me. I just want the best version that will play disks, because all my PlayStation games are on disk.

If Sony thinks I’ll buy digital on their platform, they’re mistaken. That’s what I have Steam for.

I play an OG with disk drive. I have a few 4k movies I purchased. And…some I borrowed.

It depends on the game but I’ve bought about 4 games digitally that were more than $20. Rest in disc or they were on sale for under $20. I actually trust Steam as much as I trust Sony, particularly once that heart attack gets Gabe. PS6 strategy vis a vis PS4/5 backwards compatibility and effectively carrying your purchases forward will determine my true thoughts on it. I’m sure a bunch of people will parachute in to defend Steam but meh. They’ll turn their backs on consumers too.

You can’t bequeath your collection. It’s still a licensed “collection.” They tried to sell mods a long time ago I think. And I thought they only started doing refunds after a lawsuit or threat of one? I don’t know. They’re not the shining knight either. Bottom line - digital games are not yours regardless of platform/storefront.

1) There was not a huge catalog of PS exclusive-at-launch titles this generation, 2) the Pro came out after most of them launched anyways, 3) PC has mods, 4) PS6 will be either a lesser Steam or a lesser Nintendo handheld, 5) PS6 will cost far more than any other option, would rather put the money to PC components.

Neither me nor my brother got a Pro, I will simply stream someone playing any exclusives for the PS6 and only buy PC versions.

Do you not realize that there is no media large enough to hold next generation (i.e. PS6) games? Blurays max out at 100GB. Switching to SD cards would be cost prohibitive.

I think the gaming industry here in the states is just too overrun by woke cunts now. The nerd gamers are a minority now or have given in to woke or just boomers that got the fuck out. Colleges have been turning out woke commies for decades now, especially in fields like this plus art, writing,,. Maybe save the STEM fields, but even they have been infiltrated to some degree. And you cannot just unteach this shit. Its like a cult, a religion. This generation and maybe the next is cooked my friends. Best to look to eastern Europe and Asia to get some real work done in gaming. Thats my theory at least. Or maybe get some leadership/management/direction done by non woke to herd the cattle into making something good? IDK but its not looking good.

A ton of creatives are liberal or lean liberal but at old companies it used to be conservative managers, directors, and C-suite that would basically force them to reign them in and focus that creativity on something other than their own vanity. That is THE issue in these companies now; the constraints are gone because the managers, directors, and money people all AGREE with the retarded creatives that the goal isn't to make money but to change minds.

That was kind of my point. There are a lot of liberal creators that only care about making games that hit on universal themes and tell a good, authentic story that isn’t a heavy handed lecture. These people want their companies to make money and will adjust accordingly. These types of people aren’t stupid.
