If we're gonna do predictions, heres mine:

S2 is Carol and manousas working out how to sperate the hive members from the hive mind. Manousas is the engineer, focusing on a band pass filter tin foil hat that blocks the signal. The members are blocked from the hivemind signal but still infected eith the virus, thus they feel like the died, disconnected from the hive. Carol magically becomes the pharmaceutical expert and works out a drug cocktail that, combined with the tin foil hat, helps to separate the individual from the hivemind.

S2 ends with the hive forcibly converting Carol via her eggs/stem cell and s3 is focused on manousas on the run from the hive, now empowered with carols knowledge of their plan. S3 ends with diabetes coming to the rescue and helping manousas free carol from the hive. Turns out diabetes spent 10 years as a janitor of some biolab and he provides the missing piece that they we're missing to break the members free of the hive mind at scale via some biological agent that mass converts the hive back to normal. S4 is the conclusion that frees the earth and ends the hivemind. We never learn the origin or anything about the aliens in question.

Biggest problem was way too much screentime outside of the squid games, both in the waiting period between games and the characters outside the games. Second was the games were pretty lame anyway. Third was the contestants were generally unlikable. Lots of other smaller issues.

I binged it the last 2 days, it's....ok. I loved the visuals as the dude drove up to meet Karen(tm).

There was a lot of dead space in too many episodes, on top of showing too much of a task being done; it didn't need to be dragged out like that with the limited episode count. I was pretty quick to use the 10 second seek button on my media player over and over.
