Pretty much. I think they said it would be 2 years between seasons.

Ya, kind of odd. Almost like they expected it to be a one and done.

Either that or they didn't have any ideas and wanted to mine the internet theories for ideas lol

Vince has said in the past he is very slow when developing seasons.

During one interview a few months ago he mentioned he had not began working on season 2.

Any company puts up with it due to his status and success. (Similar to Spielberg, and others)

In my opinion, when you write one of the greatest shows ever (BB) , you tend to get a pass.

He also may have just wanted to see how the audience reacted to season 1 before starting season 2. Most streamers now don't greenlit a second season or even give the budget for the writers room until they see how the audience reacted to the season, which is why HBO/Netflix/Amazon shows are taking 2-3 years between seasons. It sucks.

Slow Horses is the only streaming show I know of that is doing 2 seasons back to back every time and has the scripts done for the next season before the current season is done filming, which is why it can come out every 9 months like clockwork. Its apparently very hard work for the team though (like old school network TV lol) which is why most shows aren't doing it either.

A lot of TV stars nowadays too run off and do movies and stuff so they like the long breaks. Sucks for the character actors I have to imagine.

He did the deliver on a deadline thing for a lot of years. I would rather have a better release schedule but I get him, now that he's older, negotiating a deal for a show where it's ready when it's ready.
