They just can't help themselves. They just need to thrust a woman into situations she would never survive yet she always comes out on top. Especially in the Viking age. They just have to push THE MESSAGE.

Really? A couple thousand years of recorded history don't mention any. Oh but some viking sloot got buried with her husband's shield so she must have been a warrior. Just never chronicled in any history book.

Mostly portrayed in myth and only 1 count where they found a burial with armor and weapons and later discovered it was female remains and not male.

Which doesn't mean they existed...

In a world where food was hard to come by and nutrition/hygiene were completely non-existent, it definitely makes sense that women were marching hundreds of miles across Europe with roughly 1/5th-6th of their body weight strapped to them :rolleyes:.

Hollywood has churned out enough over the top strong jawed half shaved head female characters to last a few thousand years. The last thing we need is another.

Beowulf is an Anglo-Saxon story and even then the protagonist is a male. Because even back in the 8th to 11th century when that story was written they knew that women wouldn't stand a chance against a monster like Grendel, a Yautja or even a single average male.

Just finished this. It was actually pretty goddamn sweet.

Shield maiden legitimately kicks ass. Third guy got a bit annoying, but he pulled it together.

Honestly about an 8.5-9 out of 10.
