With the new pending lawsuit on Turtle, there are many people concerned. What would make Epoch and Ascension not face the same consequence?

What consequence? Has TWoW shut down? Has anyone lost their characters? Are you not able to log in?

I guarantee that ANY consequence TWoW MAY face in the future, will be long after you would naturally have stopped playing on the server anyway.

Bronze beard sounds cool, but it’s too much change for me to keep up with. I’m good with Epoch, despite their stumbles.

The only consequence for TWoW that's a sure thing is staff from Western countries are jammed. This could make TWoW vulnerable to a settlement to shut down operation if the staff members located in Western countries are high ranking enough. If literally none of the staff were in a Western country the entire lawsuit could be completely ignored. Their only vulnerability right now is Western staff. It's years away either way.

I wouldnt be shocked if any western employees are abandoned by a foreign company.

Yeah I'd have to assume TWoW's East Europe base cut ties with any Westerners named in the suit-- removing any potential authorization the Western staff had to any type of infrastructure.

That's just basic cover your ass. It'd be a shock twist if a Westerner actually calls the shots on the entire TWoW project with so much Russia Russia talk about how safe the project is.

While the BB changes are great it seems to me that if your goal is the game over the MMO then BB is where you want to be. With raids and mythics and late game being the primary appeal. That being said I will be messing around on it slowly as their Shaman changes are dope and I am in absolutely no rush.

Some private server named Everlook just announced their shut down on 21 Sept due to Blizzard threatening them.

Multiple members of the Project Epoch team have received a Cease and Desist from Blizzard Entertainment.

In compliance, we are shutting down the services that we are able to, including the website.

And we are ceasing any and all activity that could be construed as marketing, distribution, or support of Project Epoch, any emulated WoW servers and any WoW client software including any Project Epoch client software or “updaters”.

We will not be involved with or operate private servers for any Blizzard or Activision games.

As I've said multiple times, they aren't going away. But it does seem like Blizz is going on a C&D spree. So it is safe to assume something is up soon.

  1. Kezan and Gurubashi realms will stay online and continue to be developed. There is a an existing full roadmap for future Project Epoch content A lot of that content is already developed and will be released A team will be assembled to continue development and fulfill that roadmap The vision and values of the project will be maintained. A more Pure Classic+ Vanilla No P2W shop items A new Recovery Services panel has been added to the help menu in-game to help you recover items you've accidently lost. This works for: Vendored items (persists through sessions) Disenchanted items Deleted Items This let's you recover a limited number of items for a bit of a extra gold cost to prevent abuse. Efforts against RMT have been quite successful with hundreds of accounts banned for botting and goldselling. An in-game bugtracker is being added in the next update that will help prioritize the most major issues I will have more updates soon

They are in Netherlands I think so shouldn't be an issue. The Epoch C&Ds were to the individuals which presumably are in a more legal friendly venue for US IP matters.

Going to keep playing. I'm almost 60. The amount of "new" content quests hubs/quests 35+ adds some nice flavor
