PS6 and Next Xbox Leaks?

both are supposed to fuck with handheld consoles too, seeing finally why people love the switch 1s. it should be interesting times, since people are buying so many fewer games per person per year due to fortnite/roblox/etc, it really makes owning a console a questionable choice in 2025 especially with how ass rapey microsoft and Sony are with their gamepass/PS+ pricing. i still just like the ease of use but if money/space were an issue i would stop playing console games.

get a gaming PC/laptop + optional steam deck, and you are like 90% covered for gaming now outside of nintendo crap which gets emulated anyways. GTA6 i guess is the biggie, the day Rockstar simultaneously releases a GTA game on PC as well as console is the day you can declare console gaming is dead.

lol gta 6 is gonna release on ps5/xbox, then a year later on PC, then 2 years later a PS6 remaster edition will come out for another $120

So over keeping up with the console industry. Pretty sure my PS5 Pro and Switch 2 will be the last consoles I will buy. Going with a new gaming PC whenever my PS5 Pro is no longer good enough. Don't even want to get sucked into any new platform ecosystems anymore. Tired of their subscriptions and bullshit. They basically killed any real platform exclusivity anyways, and I have all the backwards compatibility by now that I am going to get. To top it off I have not been happy about the direction new games have been gravitating towards, especially when it comes to the AAA industry. AA is the only thing really keeping me interested in new games anymore, and PC dominates that scene.

Yup PC is basically the only place where online multiplayer still makes any sense. Free to use, there's basically no central authority ruling over the online access that can ban you from everything, your online interactions don't need to be recorded and reviewed by some shadowy thought police, you can use and download mods, you can use and download 3'rd party online multiplayer services, there's generally far more community interaction, I mean I could go on and on about how PC online gaming is just the far better experience these days.

I was a big console proponent of years past. But what tires me is I get a launch console, there's some issues with them, then later they launch a midlife kicker with better specs that seems closer to what they promised the console would actually be. I think for PS6 there's just no compelling reason for me to grab a launch one. The better deal is just waiting for the ps6 pro.

Plus all the $70-80 games will be piss cheap by then, run at good frame rates, and all the console bugs will be worked out.

Also don't get me started on the absolute ass raping of ps+ plans.

I had been a PC gamer mostly but kids make consoles appealing. There’s a lot of multiplayer split screen games. Eventually I’ll build them their own rigs if it comes to that.
