On something like my 40th reroll I finally got a Horus (Lv. 30 due to the godfest). I assume that's worth keeping? My new phone isn't rooted so I can't backup and keep trying for Lucifer. It's getting rather frustrating at this point too, plus I'm missing out on the free stones.

If I keep Horus, any tips on how best to proceed?
I'd keep him, but I'm a primarily Horus user. You won't be able to easy mode some descended mythical like you can with SoD Luci, but 16x still does mostly fine. Plus he still pairs well with other #x friends.

Grab a drop of each color from the first dungeons and start working your way up. And from there following the standard path of getting a Siren and few other drops.

Horus is great, I use him partnered with my Bast all the time (probably Intrinsic's in fact :p), but it took some practice for me to get decent with him. I had a very bad habit of depleting certain orb types due to playing single color a lot which will absolutely ruin you with Horus that I had to break, but if you are starting new he will likely work well for you and will ultimately make you a much better player in the long run.

Yeah and depending on your team with potential for lower HP and RCV, when you take a hit is easy to get tunnel vision on hearts and not make your matches for 16x. You kind of have to just weave hearts in to your normal plan and not get worried. Takes some getting used to.

Have played with Umi+Yama a lot yesterday and today and am not sure I'll keep investing in XP there. Requiring those specific colors to activate 5x on a 6 color dungeon you end up getting screwed a lot. I mean it is a 1/4 chance for there not to be three orbs of the color you have to have? Still thinking about how to retool the Horus team to be more sustainable for descends that you can't just sweep.

Keep him and play. Sorry, it was bad advice to get rid of bastet. I just assumed you'd back it up.

Horus is great, and there are a few ways to make an ez-cheesey team with him (heartbreakers hoooooooooooo). You'll get a better shot at luci later too (godfest "soon").

Depends who you ask. JP2.0 except for red are good to great. Chinese some people swear by and some think are overrated trash. If you need a damage type leader it seems like a no brainer to roll to me.

Anyone able to throw up an Odin in a little more than an hour? I want to try Odin + Odin on Hera. Bonus points if yours is also fully Awoken.

Chinese: Light and Dark are both GREAT leaders. No bad pull from Chinese but Red is weakest.
JP2.0: Dark and Green are AMAZING. Blue is good. Light is IAP intensive (god dmg) and Red is... TERRIBLE.

Tamadra Guide... no need to repost it.

Just some things to think about:
Leaders with more awakenings get more Pal Points...
Farmable monsters can be awakened without Tamadra (light monsters suck to xp though)
REM monsters can only use tamadra
+Stat Awakenings are equivalent to +10egg to that stat... but you will get +10eggs faster than you will get one tamadra.

Useful awakening skills depend on your playstyle:

1. Most teams benefit from increased dmg from horizontal matches.
2. Decreased cooldown not terribly useful by itself but when several are stacked, becomes useful.
3. Multi target attack when 4orbs... do you really think its useful?
4. Autoheal for 500 per turn... great on Siren and Archangel and Odin... Siren is easy to awaken... Angel requires tons of XP... Odin... requires tamadra :p
5. 2% reduced dmg from color... if a color hits you for more than 10,000 that 2% is worth more than 100HP...
6. Chance to block poison/blind/color cool, cant rely on it, but nice when it happens.
7. Bind immune: great... but the time for GOdin/Autohealer is over... still nice I guess
8. Bind Reduction: Match 3 hearts... reduce binds by a turn. Not sure if it works if that one is bound though!

its not a godfest, its just the dark mobs festival frenzy galore thats started.
Godfest features specific Gods to drop at even higher rate.

Yea, if you "really" want a lucifer, you can wait until the godfest, your chance is something like 5% at getting Lucifer if you combine a godfest with a dark carnival. Godfest should be within the next 2 days.

That said, Horus is not a bad god at all... I'm just not very good at it at all, so he's forever just relagated to a sub role on my mono-red (but yet I tend to have no problem with bastet, go figure)... BUT he's an amazing spike damage god if you're at all decent at the game. Even if you never spend a single dime on the game, you can still farm up the heartbreakers from the easiest descended dungeon in the game (2 heroes) and make a great horus team using sigfreid and CuChu which you can then use to help you get a Valk and level up a Siren to get hera with Odin friends. With a leader Horus you can also team up with Kirin for the higher multiplier if you're looking to do the tougher descends.

I guess I don't know what the difference is then. The thing that pops up when you go to roll an egg said that there was a higher chance of a list of 24 dark monsters, and mentioned that they would probably be Lv.30 just like the fire gods the past couple days... Does godfest also increase the chance of actually getting a gold egg instead of the other shit?

I feel like everything about this game is about 100x more obtuse than is really necessary. Not the rolling for a particular god stuff so much--I know I'm doing that to myself--but the tutorial explains nothing I couldn't have figured out in two minutes on my own and leaves about a hundred other things completely in the dark as far as what I actually need to do after I get the god I want to keep. Are there any guides for that stage of the game?

Admittedly I haven't read the first post in forever, but I think you're right about the in game stuff. It may or may not include the following pieces of information, and there are a lot of frequently asked questions.

Same color creatures give 1.5x XP, so it is more efficient to feed that way. I typically don't waste time leveling feeder to max level before using them. So I'll just have random level 4, 10, 6 whatever creatures feeding for xp. There are a few rare exceptions, but nothing for you to worry about. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to min/max your feeder xp.

Get to Tower of Giants and chain run it until you're no longer gaining a rank before your STA runs out. Honestly I think gaining ranks are the most important thing to do and open up a lot more efficiency.

There will always be rare egg themes going on, but unless it explicitly stated GODFEST on the REM box, you're no more likely to get a good roll than the trash. Godfest gives you a 3x chance at a God, and still an equal chance at a Fairlo (lol). Godfest information is usually posted on their Facebook page, but someone is usually nice enough to repost here. It also usually coincides with an event like the current thanksgiving one.

The biggest question I have is: when I start out I almost immediately fill up my monster box and I'm forced to clean it out to continue. But what happens is I clean it out via fusing, then I run out of coins and can't do anything more unless I sell monsters, which leads me to wonder which ones I should have fused and which ones I should have sold. Or if I did something wrong and shouldn't have gotten to the point where I ran out of coins in the first place.

Other than that I guess it's just terminology. People say things like "get 4x double rainbow spirits" when they mean dub-mythlits (and possibly dub-amelits as an acceptable substitute?) I'm reading stuff on ggftw forums now though, and things are [slowly] becoming more clear.

If someone tells me double rainbow spirits, I'd know exactly what they were talking about, since the Friday dungeon is called shrine of spirits which is where most people will be getting dubmythlets until they can farm the top tier technicals (top tier tech is Significanty better source than even Friday dungeon during 2x drop IMO)

Soon = Now. Dark attribute godfest just started.
Not a godfest. The attribute festivals are only 1.5x rate, godfests are 3x (and you'll get enough 3* or 4* to be outright pissed).

It's a hard drive to get you to use your free stones toward inventory space (arguably the BEST usage of stones). And it is terminology. Godfests are triple rate, others are 1.5x (3x vs 1.5x). Dont' confuse the two, one rapes you dry and the other woos you and then date rapes you. As far as fusing. Feel free to post. If it's not a god or dragon, it's few and far between that you are required to keep it. (Siren, some Golems, Hearts-to-whatever being exceptions).

Also, they do mean "double rainbow" as in Double Mythli, not double amelit. Stats are completely different. Dub0Mythlit is crazy stats and cheap teamcost.

Funny how many things either "require" Odin ... Or "don't allow" it.
If it singles hits for more than 50k, it requires Odin (or maybe double resist). If it multi-hits for more than 20k, it doesn't allow it. That's really the breakdown.
