I started this game and got wrecked in the tutorial. Several times.
I had the same experience. I was doing fine and then some huge waves came with new enemies and just steamrolled me. I thought it was just teaching me how to repair or whatever, but then it was game over.
I halfway wonder if it isn't an anti-piracy measure or something.
I have this in my Wishlist. Is it any good?
Also, to your comments, I am now 0:50 into that video and he skips the tutorial and says something about how excited he is to have 30 rounds to play with and how he will not get wrecked in round 15. So your points sound like they are indeed on purpose.
I haven't really dived deep into it, so I can't really say. Though, I have been seeing streamers that go for these types of games enjoying it a fair bit. The production value is pretty good, and it has some charm to it. I'd guess it will come down to whether or not they can nail the balance and depth in time for release
