To be fair, with a shorter run time, the movie would feel rushed if you want to structure the story the way it is. Basically it goes character exposition -> meddling in the spy game -> formation as a sparrow . This takes about an hour and then you still have to make your spy vs spy movie!Also, this has little to do with Black Widow. I think she is involved in 3 fights in the whole movie, none with actual weapons. He spy work is mostly talking, choosing what lie and what truth to tell when to whom.
Still... this is not a very good movie. More like a Manichean collection of cold war stories clichés that we are supposed to find relevant again because of the current climate of cold war 2.0.

Really debating on watching this by myself. I think having the girlfriend around would just really kill the money scenes..
Or the fact that I've had the book sitting on my shelf for two years, waiting to be read...
