Yeah I was killed and forgot back didn't work and lost a full set of chanted diamond. went and made another set of diamond and enchanted 1 piece and had my super sword and a ghast destroyed the block under me and I fell into the lava and lost it all again. I haven't been back on since. Need to chill a day or 2. hehe

So I am building a small house (tiny in fact) and I used normal bricks for the walls. Well from the outside (mind you, no windows yet) it looks like it could called "Tarrants Rape Emporium".
Anyone have a wall material they could recommend that looks more inviting?

Yeah I lost about 12 diamonds, full diamond armor and tools yesterday.Was a rough day.
Stairs and, especially, upside down stairs make everything look better for me. I have no building skill whatsoever but I find that just using stairs and fence posts around windows for example will make the whole exterior look a thousand times better. Anytime I think my outside cobble walls look too bland and flat I add wood or stairs randomly until I find a spot that looks good.I felt that way even seeing pics of the project lol. I'm new to this though and needed to start somewhere. I'll change things and add on/take away from my little home to get better at it.

Also I added a section in the OP for mega projects that we're doing as a team. Currently the only one I know if is the Church, which is organized by ApostlePM and being worked on by me and a few others. Everyone is welcome to join. Here's the content of the edit I made in the OP:

The Cathedral is a massive project that occupies a space hundreds of blocks wide and 150ish blocks high. It's easily the most ambitious project on our server and will be an incredible point of pride when it's finished.
Everyone's help is welcome and appreciated.
Location:
West of the Medieval Project
Current Progress:
Flat Area: 70%
First floor walls: 50%
Second Floor walls: 5%
Ceiling: 0%
Floor: 0%
How to Help:
We mostly need help building it. Currently the first floor walls would be a good place to start. Most of them are done but there are a few that are not. The layout of the pattern is all set and you can copy the existing walls.
If you'd prefer to mine and donate resources we need:
Grey Wool
Netherbrick
Glass
