Unfortunately, Adam's right, there's not much more of an answer here than the Open league, or the bigger pub leagues filled with farmed teams.

Because even if we got another tournament going, with lets say the people who are able to play a game every day, you'd still run into scheduling problems. Like I've got time every day to play a game, no problem. But I still work 4 nights a week and still have to sleep, so I'm only on from 9 to 3 those days. No way I could play games with people who have day jobs, and people who have day jobs would never be able to play euros, etc.

So it kinda comes down to whether or not you can garner enough interest in something ridiculously specific, like the Daily Pacific Time Bankers Hours League and shit. But there's almost always someone online in IRC that's down for a game.

Well, not exactly play at a friends house, I was going to try DLing the patch elsewhere, so was thinking of dragging my heavy as fuck case around this weekend (prob Sunday since we have a board game or RPG group occasionally on Sundays).

But where I am standing now: I put the Steam ticket in on Monday, as of right now there has been no response. The ticket is still active. I did just go change the keywords on the type of error, because this evening the strangest shit happened. It started downloading...Day of Defeat: Source, which was a 34.7 MB patch. I let it go until it finishes, and I wait to see what it does when it goes to DL the BB patch: and it does the exact same thing it had before. Start, downloading update, suspend download, start, downloading update, suspend download...etc etc etc. It had no issue that I could see with the DoD patch, which was about twice the size of the BB patch. And it is currently listing my download rate at 0 bytes/s but it worked fine with DoD source.

I mean, I just don't know what to say anymore lol.

I also tried DLing some patches from elsewhere online, but they refused to let me change the destination to the Steam folder and I couldn't get any of it to work by trying to move stuff between folders.

I'm not really sure how not being in the league at all is somehow more preferable to missing a game or two (with someone else playing it), but whatever floats your boat. It's not as if there'd be trust issues with the info by giving it to someone like Cutlery.

Well, the dirty Skaven has a point, actually. If you think you can work out the patching problem in the next 7 weeks, and still want to be a part of it, I could definitely knock out a game for you. The only thing that needs to be divulged is the actual Blood Bowl password (not your steam acct), and the pw on d that should be easy to change for a day.

I'm currently playing 2 games a week, with my Orcacide acct too, and DJays playing a 3rd acct of mine in order to fill out the league. Ya do what ya gotta do to make shit work.

I don't care which way you go with it, i'd love to keep you in the league, as the more the better, and would rather not have to replace you for 7 weeks when this shit could clear up any day now. But I really don't want to have to give Waxed a concession and give him 2 mvps and double winnings either, because that puts him at a pretty good advantage over a lot of the rest of our teams which are pretty beat up.

Sorry if you posted this elsewhere, but have you tried uninstalling Blood Bowl, then reinstalling it? If that's the only Steam game you're having a problem with, that could fix it. If you're worried about losing replays and/or saves, you could just copy that folder over before the uninstall.

The saves folder actually doesn't get removed on an uninstall, so you're good there. Its in the documents folder rather than in the steam directory.

Mostly because you should be running 3 journeymen for match 2, just like all the other AV 7 teams

Yeah, and look at this motherfucker here. Having the balls to roll the 6 dodge and the 6 pass in order to keep me from getting the win, and 20k winnings, so I can't buy an apothecary.

I have a feeling I'm gonna get about 4 injuries next game as punishment for not being able to seal the deal.

Harsh but fair. I am really looking forward to getting underway. I can't see any of my elves surviving more than one complete season :p if this goes on for a while I dread to think how many players I may go through

He was online earlier today and played part of a match before his internet cut out for 20-25 minutes. Which is, at least, a separate issue from being unable to patch the game.
