That's weird, I was watching that and thinking that in the not too distant future we'd probably see delivery robots. But it's going to rely on autonomous driving.

And then I read your post and I'm like, holy crap, if they did night delivery and didn't really mess with daytime traffic, that'd be massive. Basically wake up to your package instead of getting it during the middle of the day.
also, if everyone had their own roboslave, it could communicate with the robodelivery truck and just snatch your pre-staged box off of the truck as it goes past, barely any stopping required. would speed up delivery throughput dramatically. as a bonus, it could beat any potential porch-thieves to death on the way back to the door.

Uber already has some deal with Waymo where they have the waymo self driving cars do deliveries. I had something from Best Buy delivered this way lol.

it could also be that week i went to la it was raining which everyone told me never happens and everyone stayed home and door dashed

but waymos cost me x2 as much as the last time i used em

It seems to me that CA is either on fire or having mudslides because it rained. They had to have received a lot, the storms were big enough to cross the mountain chain and get us in NV.
